Mrs. Eli Sims, who has spent
the past few weeks in St. Jo-
seph's Hospital, London, spent
the weekend at her home here.
Mrs. Rebecca Lewis, who has
been in South Huron Hospital,
Exeter, for the past four months
was moved Thursday to Goderich
Hospital for treatments. Mr. &
Mrs. Marvin Wein and family and
Mrs. Leonard Wein and Eber
Lewis visited her Sunday.
Mrs. Alec Hamilton of Grand
Bend, Mrs. Leonard Wein and
Eber Lewis and M. John Sims and
Mr. Wilbur Sims were in London
Saturday owing to the death of
their uncle, the late Isaac Sims,
Friday after a long illness, They
all attended the funeral Monday.
The number of seats in Can-
ada's House of Commons was
increased from 235 to 245 in
1925, to 262 in 1949, to 265 in
1953.

Annual WA meeting will be held
in St, Paul's church, London, dur-
ing this week.
UNITED CHURCH
The general UCW meeting was
held in the schoolroom Thursday
evening with Mrs. Owen Saward
in charge of the worship service.
A skit, based on proper articles
for a bale, was staged by Mrs.
Ivan Stanley, Mrs. G. E. Nichol-
son, Mrs. Stewart Park and Mrs.
Sheridan Revington.
Owing to a death in the family,
the guest speaker, Mrs. Percy
Johnson, secretary of supply and
welfare, Middlesex Presbytery,
was unable to be present,

in the Schoolroom Friday May 20,
A discussion was held on the
youth's summer camps.
Mrs, H. B. Langford reported
on the purchasing of a new stove
and refrigerator for the new
building. It was announced the
Regional Rally will be held in the

The Easter meeting of the Uni-
ted Church Women was held last
Tuesday evening in the church
basement, Mrs. Lloyd Jaques had
charge of the worship service
and took as the theme "God's
Beautiful World" and the medi-
tation "The Easter Lily". Mrs.
Wm. Spence sang a solo and a
story was given by Miss Jean
Copeland.
Mrs, Robert Robinson conduct-
ed the business after which lunch
was served and a social time
spent.
WOODHAM MESSENGERS
The Messengers Easter party
was held in the church basement
last Tuesday afternoon with Zion
West as guests. The meeting
opened with quiet music played
by Julie Webb.
The offering for Bunny Bundle
was taken up by Robby Dickey
and Ivan Hern. Mrs. La Verne
Rodd gave the Easter story. "Be-
longings" was given by Earl and
Vernon Thomson and Eddie Rodd.
Graham Robinson favored with an
accordion selection. "E as te r
Laundrey" was given by Judy
Dickey, Julie Webb, Janet Tom-
linson, Nancy and Deborah Ja-
ques, Karen Insley and Pamela
Rodd. Murray Insley, Paul Park-
inson and Bobby Strahan sang.
An Easter acrostic was given
by Mary Lou Thomson, Linda
Timm s, Margaret Parkinson,
David Tomlinson, Lorie Webb
and Michelle Robinson. A piano
solo was given by Linda Hern.
LODGE EUCHRE
The Black Knight Orange and
Ladies Lodges held a combined
euchre for the Bunny Bundle in
the hall Friday evening with
twelve tables in play.
Ladies high was won by Mrs.
Tom Coward; lone hands, Mrs.
Clarence Switzer; low score,
Mrs. Alma Hodgins; men's high,
Mr. Russell Morrison; lone
hands, Mr. Gordon Johns; low
score, Mr. Fred Jameson.

CGIT SPONSOR SONG SERVICE
The Lucan-Clandeboye CGIT
Sunday evening sponsored a re-
peat performance of a Folk Song
Service, staged by the Ailsa Craig
Young People. Many adults, as
well as young people enjoyed the
service, which was preceded by
15 minutes of gospel singing, led
by the Lucan pastor, Rev. G. W.
Sach. A. Lucan CGIT Carol Has-
kett read the Scripture lesson.
The Rev. John Davies of Ailsa
Craig was in charge of the young
People's program, with music
provided by Barbara Cunning-
ham, Lyle Pettigrew and the Ropp
family.

CGIT members
envoy bus trip
The Lucan-Clandeboye CGIT
last Monday sponsored a bus trip
to Toronto with 24 members from
Lucan, 12 from Ailsa Craig, three
leaders and four guests, making a
total of 43. The bus left Lucan
shortly after 6:30 am and they
arrived home shortly after 9pm.
They toured the United Church
House, Covenant College (the
former UC Women's Training
School) the Anglican Women's
Training School and Toronto's
new City Hall, which all thought
was wonderful.
