The WSWS of the HUB church
met Thursday evening with Mrs.
Lloyd Hey in charge of the pro-
gra,m while Mrs. Eminery Falira-
er presided at the piano.
The theme being "Christian
Citzenship", the devotional was
taken by Mrs. Lloyd Hey, Miss
Clara Gaiser and Mrs. Aaron
Wein, A piano solo was given by
Rev. Howard Zurbrigg. Spiritual
life on “Worship" was taken by
Mrs. G. E. Wenzel followed by
a vocal duet by Mrs. Hey and
Miss Ella Morlock, A poem was
read by Miss Gaiser,
The business and reports of
committees was conducted by the
vice-president, Mrs. Allen Fink-
bather and assistant secretary
Mrs. Alvin Finkbeiner. The WS-
WS convention will be held at
Palmer Rapids April 26 to 28
with the guest speaker being
Mr. Donald Pletsch, missionary
to Sierra Leone.
SHOWS PICS OF EUROPE
The Crediton UCW held the
Easter Thankoffering meeting
Wednesday evening April 13 and
were hostesses to the two units
of the Main Street UCW, pre-
sident Mrs. Clifford Kenney wel-
corned the visitors.
The worship was taken by Mrs.
Lorne Preszcator who chose as
her theme 4 rilie Meaning of East-
er". Scripture was read by Mrs.
Robert Reid and Mrs. Douglas
Galloway and Mrs. Charles
Browning favored with duets ac-
companied by Mrs. Robert Gra-
ham. An Easter reading was given
by Mrs. Earl Neil, Mrs. Ruby
Molitor showed pictures on her
trip last summer to Europe and
the British Isles,
Refreshments were served by
the hostesses Mrs. Lawrence
Hill, Mrs, Sam King and Mrs.
Molitor,

Sunday visitors with Mr, &
Mrs. Clifford Kenney and Ron
were Mr. & Mrs. Charles Mather
and family of Goderich.
Mr. Lawrence Wein, who is
music teacher in a number of
the schools in the Stephen Town-
ship School Area, has announced
that the pupils will be presenting
a musical program once again
this year. It will be held Tues-
day April 26 at 8:00 pm in the
Crediton HUB Church.
The Crediton Community Cen-
tre will be open Thursday, April
28 from 4 to 7 pm to receive
T. B. Daynard
T. B. Daynard of Staffs who is
studying at the University of
Guelph has been awarded a $3,000
grant from the National Research
Council.

Mr. Valentine Becker is a
patient in St. Joseph's hospital,
London, following a mishap at
his machine shop where he was
working. lie was taken by Hoff-
man Ambulance.

Zion Lutheran Walther Lea-
guers entertained the newly con-
firmed young people and parents
of all the leaguers Tuesday, April
,2. Supper was served followed
by bunco with Anne Becker and
Jack Schenk being high players.
Rev. Wm. Gatz of Zion Luth-
eran church accompanied by a
number of young people from
Zion Lutheran church toured the
Lutheran college at Ann Arbor,
Mich. and were guests over night.
The ones who took part in this
outing were: Margaret Merner,
Jack and Mary Lou Schenk, Ro-
bert and Janet Miller, Roger
K elle r, David Gibson, Diane
Becker, Sheila Willert, Sharon
Martine, Jim Hayter, as well
as Paulette Schroeder and Sheila
Keller of Peace Lutheran church,

BRIDAL SHOWER
Mrs. Lloyd Guenther was hos-
tess for a bridal shower for Miss
Faye Becker, bride-elect of
April, Friday night at her home.
Some 40 relatives of the groom
were present. The evening was
spent in playing games and con-
tests. Miss Lynda Rader favored
With accordion selections.
Barbara Anne Guenther and
Patti Lyn Rader presented the
gifts in a basket, The bride
thanked all for the gifts and
lunch was served,
WEAR A SMILE
The seventh meeting of the
Dashwood Porn Poms was held
at the home of Sheila Willert
Thursday April 14. Notes were
given on “Wearing your Acces-
sories". The girls were urged
not to forget the most impor-
tant accessory of all "Wear an
attractive smile". Miss Diane
Liddiard, home economist, was
a guest and discussed achieve-
ment day.
TOURS WITH SINGERS
Mary Ann Hayter, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. James Hayter, had
the pleasure of going on tour with
the St. Cecilia Singers and Cath-
olic Central Band of London.
They visited Washington, D.C.
where they saw President Ken-
nedy's grave and travelled to the
state of Maryland. They visited
Greensboro, North Carolina, and
spent the latter part of the week
at Myrtole Beach, South Caro-
lina. Concerts were presented at
each stopping place.-
CANTATA AT Fxs CHURCH
A cantata called ""The Empty
Tomb" was presented by the
choir and Youth Fellowship of
the Zurich Evangelical UB church
in the EUB church Sunday eve-
ning.
Mrs. Allan Gascho is the lea-
der of the Youth Fellowship and
directed the play. Mrs. Milton
Oesch is choir leader, and direct-
ed the singing. Lunch was served
by the Dashwood choir and Youth
Fellowship.
PERSONALS
Mr. Fred Welberg returned
home Monday after spending a
week in London with Mr. & Mrs.
Earl Weiberg and Judy.
Mrs. Lucinda McIsaac has re-
turned home after spending the
winter in Detroit, Hyland Park,
Mich. and Windsor. Mr, Wilfred
McIsaac and son Ronald spent
the weekend with her.
Rev. & Mrs. Merrill James
and boys spent the Easter holi-
days with their parents at Wal-
tham, Quebec, and Ottawa.
Miss Darlene Rader vacationed
last week with Miss Susan Telfer
of Brantford,
Mr. & Mrs. Ray Shoebottom,
Richard and Ann, attended the
Lowe-Johnson wedding in Huron
College Chapel, London, Satur-
day and the reception which fol-
lowed in Thorndale,
Mrs. R. Wiley and Mrs, Phil
Johnston of London were Sunday
visitors with their mother, Mrs.
Arthur McFalls. Susan Lilley
returned home with them after
spending the Easter holidays with
her grandmother.
Mary Shoebottom spent the
weekend with her cousin Cynthia.

Elizabeth Johnson at the home of
her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Roy
