Aberdeen Hall Monday evening.

family spent the weekend with Mr.
& Mrs. Jack Armstrong of Au-
burn.
Mr. & Mrs. Reg Doupe were

Paynter spent two days with his
grandparents Easter week.
Mr. Jack Veitch of London and
Mrs. Mary Hewins of Niagara

Mrs. Harvey Squire has re-
turned to her home in the village.
Miss Jo-Anne Scott spent five
days during Easter week with her
cousin Miss Valerie Ward of
Monkton. Valerie returned home
with Jo-Anne for the weekend.

spent the past week with his

Semi-finalist Canadian amateur,
1962; winner of the London Hunt
Invitation; winner of the Tucker
Invitation, New Mexico 1961; win-
ner of the Oak Hill Invitation,
N.Y, 1963.
He has been a member of the
Seven Ontario Junior teams,
Three Carling Cup Teams for
Canada, Willingdon Cup, Ontario,
America's Cup team for Canada,
and University of Houston.
Since turning professional in
Jan. 1964, h e has been employed
by Bill Mawhinney at the North-
wood Country Club in Toronto,
as a teaching and playing profes-
sional along with shop duties.
During the last three winters he
has gained considerable shop
management experience at the
East End Golf School.
Professional record includes
winner of the Canadian Bursary,
1964; first in the Brantford In-
vitation, 1964; fourth in the 1964
Ontario Open.
He played only four tourna-
ment in 1964: Seventh in the On-
tario Open, 1965; played the

Caribbean Tour, 1965; fourth in
the Orange Open, Florida, 1965;
second low qualifier in the Millar
Match Play.
In July 1965, he underwent cor-
rective surgery on the left hand,
therefore played no more tourna-
ments. He has since recovered
completely from this operation.
The following is a list of pre-
sent course records: Competi-
tive; London Hunt, 69; Don Valley,
66. Tournament records: Ontario
Junior 69, 71; London Hunt In-
vitation 69, 70. Other low scores
include: 63, Golf Crest Country
Club, Houston, Texas; 64, Scar-
boro Golf and Country Club; 64,
Bolton Golf and Country Club;
65, Northwood Country Club.
Phil's wife is the well known
Canadian swimming star Judy
Stewart and was featured in week-
end magazine recently. The
couple have taken up residence
on Huron Street.
Phil Rajotte, the new greens-
keeper at the club came here
from Scarborough. He has work-
ed in this capacity under ex-
perienced men in the Toronto
area. Phil and his wife Marthe
are living in the house on the
golf club property. They have
five grown children.

able throughout the season to give
lessons.
The 120 acre course has been
under construction for the past
two years and was designed by
Dave Ferguson, a professional
golf course architect from Scot-
land with 45 years experience in
the business. Although there are
14 holes completed now only
nine will be used this season.
The completely watered course
features large elevated greens
and trees. The 3,200 yard course
promises to be one of the best
in the area and is expected to
draw golfers from Grand Bend,
London, Stratford and area. Mem-
berships have started to come in
already although golfers can also
use the system of, 'pay as you
play'.
A club house and pro shop with
complete facilities is now under
construction and it is hoped to
have this completed in the very
near future. Clubs and carts will
be available for rent during the
season. The course also features
complete practice facilities for
driving and putting. -
The club pro, Phil Brownlee
is 25 years of age, married, and
has lived in Toronto for most
of his life.
He graduated from West Hill
Collegiate, and enrolled in the
University of Houston, Houston,
Texas, on a golf scholarship.
At Houston, he majored in Busi-
ness Administration for two and
one-half years.
He has been associated with
pro-shops and club activities for
several years. As a boy he cad-
died and worked in the pro-shop
at Cedar Brae Golf Club.
Phil played amateur golf as
a member of the Cedar Brae
Golf and Country Club for three
year and was a member o f
Scarboro Golf and Country Club
for nine years.
During the amateur golf years
he compiled the following record:
Ontario Junior Champion,
1957-59; Runner-up in Canadian
Junior; 1957; winner of the Willie
Park Invitation, 1959; Quarter-

Mr. Fred Parkinson is a pa-
tient in St. Marys Memorial Hos-
pital.
Mrs, Archie Dewar is spending
some time with Mr. Stewart Mar-
riott and family of St. Marys
while Mrs. Marriott is a patient
in hospital in London.
Mr. Russell Doube and Mr.
Adam Gordon attended the funeral
of the late Charles Mills at
Omemee on Saturday,
