The Exeter Kinsmen sponsored
Midgets will complete their 1965-
66 season this coming week in
Port Huron in the annual Silver
Stick tourney.
Competing in Shamrock and
OMHA play, the Loader-13ayn-
ham coached youngsters com-
piled a good record winning 19,
losing only four along with one
tie in 24 outings.
Their top forward line amas-
sed a total of 123 points. John
Loader led the club with 1'7goals
and 32 assists for a total of 49
points. Jim Hayter was close
behind with 39, including the top
goal production of the club, 23.
The other member of the top line,
Bill Fairbairn racked up 35 points
made up of 1'7 goals and 18 as-
sists, to end in a tie with Grant
Walker. Walker combined with
Mike Hoy and Peter Lawson for
a line total of 100 points.
Glenn Stire enjoyed a good year
in the nets, allowing but 64 goals
in 24 games for a 2.6 goals a-
gainst average along with six
shut-outs.

choir and Session were enter-
tained by the ladies of the UCW
last Thursday evening.
Mr. Robert Graham reviewed
the highlights of the year and also
announced that the choir would be
presenting an Easter cantata on
Easter Sunday morning at a joint
service to be held at 10 am.

Mrs. Mildred Klahre, Cather-
ine and Martha moved April 1 to
London to reside having sold their
farm.
passed away Wednesday March
23 in Victoria Hospital, London.
He was a retired decorator
and painter. Mr. Fahrner was the
son of the late Godfred and Kath-
erine Fahrner of Stephen Town-
ship.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Mabel Wenzel and one
daughter (Shirley) Mrs. Louis
Hoar of London; also, one sister,
Mrs. Fred (Clara) Harris and
one grandson Rick Hoar both of
London.
Funeral services were con-
ducted by Rev. Howard G. Zur-
brigg from his late residence in
Crediton with Hopper-Hockey of

Again this week a number of
keglers at the Exeter Bowling
Lanes hit the charmed circle
with individual games of 300 or
more.
In mixed league action Doris
Dobson rattled the pins for a
merry 316 and Pete Bileski threw
a 317. Top male competitors of
the week were Gary Middleton
and Jack Fuller each tossing
two games over the 300 mark.
Middleton had scores of 313 and
314 and Fuller's totals were 310
and 318. Other top games were
Don Couture 302, Don Beaver-
stock 317, Frank Brintnell 331,
Lyle Little 323, Jim Russell
303, Howie Holtzman 318, Gerry
Campbell 313 and Jim Hennes-

Minor bowlers
defeat London
A pair of Exeter minor bowl-
ing clubs turned in a double win
over London clubs at the local
lanes over the weekend.
The senior keglers led byDar-
lene Snell's top triple of 657 de-
feated their London opposition in
a three game roll-off by a handy
2663-2364. Darlene also led in
the single game department with
top scores of 243 and 248.
In the junior competition the
locals again held the upper hand
by a wide margin winning 2495-
2160. David Hunter led the Ex-
eter contingent with a 555 triple
including high single of 231.
Peewees entered in
Goderich tournament
Exeter Pee Wees go into the
Young Canada tournament in God-
erich next Tuesday with a good
season's record behind them.
The twelve years and under hock-
eyists under the direction of
James Brown and Terry Bourne
won 23, lost 5 and tied 4 games
during the season scoring 141
times and having only 72 scored
against them.
Scoring statistics show that
their success throughout the year
was due to a solid team effort.
Their three top point-getters
Russ Harrington 40, Larry Da-
vies 37 and Peter Glover 34 were
a key member from each of the
three forward lines.
Goalie Jim Brown played the
majority of the 32 games and
turned in 2.06 goals against aver-
age and was selected as the best
cage guardian at the annual Sham-
rock tournament in Lucan that
was won by the Exeterites.

Bantams to play
in Georgetown
Exeter Bantams turned in a
mediocre showing in regular sea-
son and play-off action, and are
hoping to make a better showing
in next week's tournament in
Georgetown. The locals handled
by Lorne Haugh and Lyle Riddell
won 13 and lost 1'7 in the season
to date.
Larry Haugh and Chris Riddell
lead the scoring parade com-
piling 33 and 32 points re-
spectively. Most of the losses
sustained by the youngsters were
by a one goal margin as they
scored 73 times and had 81 scored
against them.
