The 4th meeting of Dashwood
Porn Poms was held March 22
at the home of Norma Weigand.
Notes were given by the leaders
on hats, selection of hats, care
of hats and shoes. The girls did
samples of corded bias piping
and a true bias.
The 5th meeting of the Dash-
wood Dainty Dressers was held
at the home of Dara Goodele on
March 26 with ten present.
Notes were given on ',The
Handbag", "Selection of Hand-
bag" and materials which can
be used to make or to find in a
handbag plus care of handbag.
Each girl made a sample of a
porn porn, covered cord for pip-
ing corded bias piping, and diag-
onal braiding. The next meeting
will be held April 16 at the home
of Diane Becker.
DISCUSS UNION
Dr. E. E. Hallman, supervising
chairman, was chairman for the
conference meeting at Dashwood
March 24. Donald Geiser was
elected lay delegate for the May
conference at Milverton, Arthur
Haugh is alternate. The question
of Union with the United Church
of Canada was under discussion.
Plans to redecorate the sanctu-
ary of the church were approved.
AARON OESTREICHER
Aaron E. Oestreicher, 12, of
West Lorne passed away in Chat-
ham Public General Hospital,
Wednesday, March 23.
He was born in Dashwood and
farmed on the Bronson Line.
He is survived by one daughter,
Dr. Eunce E. McKishnie, West
Lorne; one son, Dr. Donald L.
Oestreicher, C h a th a m, three
brothers, Samuel, Dashwood;
Rev. John, Clifford; Milton, Ber-
win, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Arthur
(Martha) B runner, Overland,
Kan.
The body rested at the T. Harry
Hoffman funeral home until Sat-
urday when the service was con-
ducted by Rev. C. B. Heckendorn
of Rodney assisted by Rev. Mer-
rill James. Interment was in the
Crediton EUB cemetery.
