pleted felt articles, for the

March 21, after which meetings
will revert to a Tuesday night.
The worship service was
taken by Linda Lightfoot and
Brenda Hyde on the theme,
''Lent,''
Daisy Cobleigh's group again
won the uniform competition.

highlights of the first two days
at Quebec City and Marlene
Butler will report the highlights
of the last two days, at the next

seemed to be more interested
in the program put on by the

tion of their teacher, Mrs. Anna
Chapman.

lor doing splendid solo numbers.
In the "Magic Workshow" most of
Lucan's skaters were on the
ice from the seniors in bright
costumes to the pre-school child-
ren as reindeer in white gowns
and large antlers. Willie the
Toy Maker (Mr. George Yelland)
brought each group to life. All
groups received a big hand of
applause, especially the rein-

ANGLICAN
SR. W.A.
Wednesday afternoon, 17 Sr.
WA members and Rev. E. 0,
Lancaster, met at the home of
Mrs. Hilton Roberts. President
Mrs. P. 0, King led in the wor-
ship service.
In the absence of Mrs. Earl
Atkinson, Mrs. Harold Hodgins,
educational secretary took the
study period. She gave an in-
teresting and instructive paper
on prayer, under the following
headings: adoration, confession,
thanksgiving, intercession a n d
petition.
During the business session it
was decided to contribute 54
to make Miss Grace Versey (re-
cording secretary for the Dio-
cesan Board for the past five
years), a life member.
Mrs. T. A. Hodgins was named
the branch's representative to
attend a CWL meeting in St.
Patrick's Separate School Sunday
afternoon, March 13.
Members were reminded to
bring in their thank-o ffering
boxes at the next meeting, which
owing to Holy Week will be held
Wednesday March 30 instead of

Scott were assisted by Mrs.
Charles Haggar in the serving
of refreshments.

much time picking themselves
up.
The CGIT in their costumes
staged a comedy act.
Lucan's last number, "The
Football Game" was particularly
well done. Each team had a large
group of gaily costumed cheer-
leaders, who lacked nothing in
lung power nor exuberance. On
one team was four year-old Paul
Theanders, who really stole the
show. He was so much smaller
than anyone else on the team.
Though he has only been skating
since Christmas yet he w a s
strong on his feet. He was afraid
of no one and was right in the
middle of every scramble to
get the ball.
In the finale, the guest artists
were each presented with a small
gift by members of the Lucan
group.
The president Mrs. Jack Gil-
mour, was assisted in the worship
service by Mrs, Kay Egan and
Mrs. Don Ankers. It was decided,
like the afternoon branch to hold
the next meeting a week early,
on account of Holy Week so the
meeting will be held March 30
at the home of Mrs. Allan Scott.
At this meeting palm crosses
will be made for Palm Sunday.

Inside the George Young's Dry-
Goods Store, is a high-heeled
lady's black pump (almost new)
with a sign, "Needed someone to
fit this shoe".
Apparently, about two weeks
ago, a customer was carrying
her shoes and did not hear one
drop and fall to the floor. No
doubt she is still wondering where
she dropped it.
SOMEBODY BLUNDERED
Although "Lucan News" was
posted early last Monday, yet
someone blundered and it did not
reach Exeter until Wednesday so
we were fortunate to have so much
news printed.
To those whose ads and news
items had to be omitted — or cur-
tailed — sorry — accidents w i 11
happen.
