The guest speaker, Hamilton Hodgins, was introduced by Fred Culbert. Mr. Hodgins spoke on "The Federation of Agricul- ture". His talk was followed by the election of officers for 1966. As Luca n's representative, Mrs. Cecil Robb last Monday attended the Middlesex Safety Council meeting, said she knew little about "fish" so she substituted "wheat". She introduced the guest speak- er, Mrs. Emerson Stanley, who gave an interesting Illustrated talk on her recent trip to the British Isles, at the close of which she showed some local pictures, taken by Mrs. Erwin Scott of Lucan WI members on the bus trip to the Adelaide Hoodless homestead. Cancer society At a meeting of the Lucan Branch of the London-Middlesex Cancer Society! in the Shillelagh Motel, last Wednesday, field sec- retary J. A. Lambert of the Pro- vincial Cancer Society -was the guest speaker on the forth-coin- ing campaign. The meeting was also called to elect the officers for 1906. Thirty-six Luca.n-Clandeboye Explorers and four counsellors held their 12th Expedition in the Anglican Parish Hall last Monday evening. Chief Explorer Helen Simpson and Keeper of the Log, Linda Hodgins were on duty. Wendy Ryan gave her research on Dr. Grenfell, Mrs. William Froats led in a discussion on "What is the church?" and "What is a Christian?" It is worth men- tioning that all the scoring was done by players brought up from the local squirt team, The bantam game played to a 5-5 tie. Local scorers were Jim Hearn with two goals, singles going to Tom Hodgins, Allan Krawl and Jim Nagle, Lucan midgets were vastly out- classed by Huron as the visitors easily won 7-2.
