up with Shamrock League wins on
home ice last Wednesday as they
registered 8-0 and 4-1 victories
in the regularly scheduled games.
The third game of the evening
had to be cancelled because the
Lambeth Midgets failed to show.
The three local clubs who are
still playing out their regular
Shamrock League schedules are
also in the midst of a round-
robin playoff series with Stoney-
brook and Strathroy.
The local pee wee club hit for
three second period goals to
erase a 1-0 Lambeth lead as they
went on to score a 4-1 win in
the first game of the evening. Al
Forsyth scored the first goal of
the game at 13:15 to give the
visitors a 1-0 lead but Pete
Glover with a pair of markers
and Bob Lindenfield with a single-
ton put the locals into a lead
that they never relinquished.

8-7 and clinch first place in the
four team loop. The Old Timers
defeated Crediton by an 8-6 score
in the first game of the night to
move into a second place tie with

Dale Turvey's two goals spark-
ed the Bank Boys' win over G and
G as the London club almost
overcame an 8-5 deficit in the
dying minutes of the fast moving
encounter. Other Banker goals
came off the sticks of Lloyd
Moore, Frank "Jet" Boyle, Jim
Sandford, Pete McFalls, Jim
Russell and Lester Heywood.
Frank Clarke and Jim Mac-
Donald each tallied twice for the
losers while Jack Glover, Jack
Stephen and Walt Tiedeman add-
ed singletons.
The Old Timers power line of
Terry Bourne, Red Loader and
Cy Blommaert led them to their
close 8-6 win over Crediton.
Loader scored a hat trick while
Bourne and Blommaert added a
pair of tallies as the trio scored
seven of the oldster goals. Ted
MacDonald picked up the other
Old Timer marker.
Six different players looked
after the Crediton scoring with
Doug McBride, Doug Lightfoot,
Murray Hodge, Pat McKeefer,
Stan Lovie and Bob Galloway each
scoring once.
This Saturday night at 8 o'clock
the Exeter Figure Skating Club
will present their annual Carnival
Holidays on Ice. Without a doubt
this will be one of the best car-
nivals everpresented by the Club.
Costumes are very colourful and
the music is lively and the child-
ren enthusiastic, what more could
we ask for a good carnival. Don't
forget the time 8 pm and the
place, Exeter Arena for a night
of colourful and lively entertain-
ment.
This Saturday morning will be
the final pee wee games of the
schedule 8-0 Maple Leafs vs
Black Hawks; 9-10 Canadiens vs
Wings. Next week the playoffs
start with the first place team
meeting the third place team and
second and fourth place teams
playing, each series will be 2
out of 3.
On Saturday March 19, the
annual Minor Hockey H o u s e-
league Night will be held.
The cold weather didn't seem
to bother the boys too much on
Saturday morning as the first
game was a real good game with
the Canadiens defeating the Black
Hawks 6-4. Robbie Lindenfield
and Paul McKnight each scored
two goals with single goals from
the sticks of John Krampp and
Peter Mason for the Canadiens.
For the Black Hawks Ron Brint-
nell scored two goals with Butch
Johnston and Randy Tiernan each
adding a goal. The second game
ended in a two all tie between the
first place Maple Leafs and sec-
ond place Wings. BarrySmithers
and Dale Parkin each scored a
goal for the Leafs. Marksmen
for the Wings were Doug Penhale
and Gerard O'Rourke. If this
game was an indication of the type
of hockey to be seen in the play-
of f s, the few spectators that
do turn out will be in for a real
treat.
The fourth annual Mite Hockey
Tournament was held at RCAF
Station Clinton last Saturday and
the Exeter Mites won the B series
championship, Larry Willert and
Bob McDonald were coach and
manager of this team and I must
say "they did a wonderful job".
The Mites are boys 7 and 8 years
old (none dare be older) and it is
quite a chore in such a short time
(3 practices) to get the players to
observe off sides and other minor
rules of hockey.
Last Thursday they had their
first taste of competition when
