Leaders train at Hensall
for 4-H spring projects
One of Huron County 4-H
Homemaking Club leaders' train-
ing schools for the 1966 spring
project ; ;Accent on Accessories"
was held in Hensall Legion Hall
Monday and Tuesday of this week.
This project is a new one and

the leaders will, in turn, instruct
4-H girls in the planning, se-
lection and making of co-ordinat-
ed accessories. Miss Diane Lid-
diard, Huron home economist
conducted the sessions.

Mr. Cecil Wilson showed slides
of England and France taken ona
trip last summer, at the Precious
Blood CWL meeting held in the
school Monday evening. He was
introduced by Mrs. T. McCauley
and thanked by Mrs. G. Tucker.

decided to give a gift to each
pupil in Grades 6, 7 and 8 taking
part in public speaking.

Ten tables of bridge and 22 of
euchre were in play at the card
party sponsored by the Hospital
Auxiliary in the Exeter Legion
Hall last Wednesday evening.
Winners in bridge were: La-
dies high, Mrs. Roy Morenz,
Dashwood; men, W. G. Huntley;
high lady for euchre was Mrs.
Harold Bell; high man, Oliver
Jaques; lone hands, ladies, Mrs.
William Webster; men, Ward
Hern; consolation, Mrs, Frank
Taylor.
Mr. Elmer Bell presented the
prizes which were donated by
Miss Alice Claypole.
Mrs. E. L. Gibson convened
the card party. Other members
of the committee were Mrs. N.
Stanlake, Mrs. Ross Skinner,
Mrs. Earl Neil and Mrs. George
Rether Sr. The social committee

prayer was shown at the meet-
ing of James Street UCW unit 2
Thursday afternoon,
Mrs. W. J. Smith reviewed the
first chapter of the study book
"Jesus Christ and the Christian
Life." A questionnaire followed.
Mrs. Jack Coates favored with
a piano solo and Mrs. Elva Coates
sang a solo. Lunch was served.

For her daughter's wedding
the bride's mother wore a dress
of teal blue taffeta with beige
accessories and corsage of pink
carnations. The groom's mother
chose a black chiffon dress and
corsage of red carnations.
A reception was held in the
evening in Dashwood Community
Hall with Ken Mittleholtz and
the Twylites providing the music.
For travelling the bride wore
a black dress with gold acces-
sories and corsage of gold mums.
The couple will live in London.

Given in marriage by her fath-
er the bride wore a dress of
white lace over taffeta with long,
lily-point sleeves, fitted bodice
and skirt extending to a chapel
train. A crown of pearls held her
waist-length veil and she carried
red roses and ivy.
Miss Jean Smith, Acton, as
maid of honor wore a floor-
length gown in bronze peau de
sole and carried gold mums.
Miss Mary Creces, London, was
bridesmaid and was dressed sim-
ilarly to the maid of honor.
Gustave Creces, RR 1 Dash-
wood was best man assisted by
James Smith. Edward Smith,
Zurich and Alphonse Crece s,
London Ushered guests.

At the meeting of Main Street
UCW evening unit last Monday
night it was decided to again
sponsor the unit's adopted child.
Guest speakers were Mr. Ar-
nold Mathers and Mr. Allan Tay-
lor who conducted a short course
on group discussion and leader-
ship. Through a series of group
changes and different skits they
showed how to get everyone in
a group doing their best. A film
on this topic was also shown.
Mrs. Arnold Mathers' group
was in charge of the devotional
and Mrs. Mathers was assisted
by Mrs. Wayne 'ruckey, Mrs.
Gerald Skinner and Mrs. Claire
Hoffman.

conducted the opening and busi-
ness.
CGIT course
This year's mission study for
the CGIT is on "The Christian's
Calling."
Two films on this subject have
been shown to the James St. CGIT
— one at the meeting two weeks
ago Wednesday on "A Moment to
Act" and another one last Wed-
nesday night on "The Call Is for
You."
