Mold with hands into a loaf. Pack into a narrow, greased baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes. Serves four to five. Add tomatoes, water and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Add rice to boiling liquid, lightly stir with fork until mix- ture comes to a boil. Cover tightly; reduce heat and let sim- mer 20 minutes. First Pack girls were Laurie Jones and Barbara Gibson; Sec- ond Pack, Susan Davies, Wendy Fulford, Deborah Moore, Gloria Parker, Susanne Poole, Lauren Skinner and Third Pack girl, Carol Allies. Mothers of the nine Brownies, who flew up to Girl Guides, were presented with a yellow rose corsage at the ceremony in the J. A. D. McCurdy auditorium. Mrs. C. McCurrie, district commissioner, presented the wings to the girls and enrolled Mrs. G. Parker as Tawny Owl, 2nd Pack and Mary Lynn and Carol Anne Vickery into Guides. Rhubarb has always been a sign of spring—until home freez,. ers made it a treat we could enjoy all year 'round. Even if you don't have a home freezer you can bring a touch of spring- time to your table by picking up a package of frozen rhubarb at your grocer's where it is surprisingly inexpensive, when compared with other frozen fruits. In this recipe for rhubarb bavarian cream pie you can use either frozen or fresh rhubarb. Honey seems to add smoothness as well as sweetness to the rhubarb mixtures, cutting the acidity without taking away the pleasant tartness of the rhubarb. Owing to the bad snow storms this past few weeks a number of people's lanes have been filled with snow and thanks to Messrs Manuel Curts, Norman, Morley and Ivan Hodgins with their snow blower, plows and loader have cleared out a number of lanes and gateways. A miscellaneous shower was RHUBARB BAVARIAN PIE 2 cups sliced rhubarb 1/2 cup honey 1/4 cup water 1 tbl gelatine softened in 2 tbl cold water 1-6-oz can evaporated milk or 3/4 cup whipping cream 2 tbl honey Red food coloring Baked pie shell Stew rhubarb with 1/2 cup honey and 1/4 cup water until soft. Measure while hot; if neces- sary, add hot water to make 2 cups fruit mixture. Stir softened gelatine into hot rhubarb and chill until mixture starts to set. Chill evaporated milk infreez- ing compartment until very cold, but not frozen.
