Guest speaker at the Crediton
WI meeting held in the Com-
munity Centre Wednesday, Jan-
uary 19 was Mr. Alex Garten-
burg of Woodham who spoke on
citizenship.
He emphasized the great free-
dom Canadians enjoy and their
lack of appreciation for it, lie
showed a film "The Earth and
Mankind" narrated by Stanley
Burke. Mrs. Ft, Molitor moved
a vote of thanks to Mr. Garten-
burg for his message.
The chairlady for the program
was Mrs. John Morrissey. Sev-
eral duets were sung by Mrs.
Charles Browning and Mrs.
Douglas Galloway. The current
events was given by Mrs. Percy
Noels. The motto "The home
is the first school; the children
are the first Plipils” was well
taken by Mrs. Allen Pfaff. Sev-
eral Scottish songs were sung

A candle lighting service was

son, Janis Thomson, Carl Lang-

Mrs. LaVerne Rodcl conducted
the business, The birthday song

Johns and Mary Lou Thomson who
have birthdays in January.
A skating party was held Tues-
day after school for all members
of Messengers. Lunch of wieners,
hot chocolate and a cup cake was
