The above liquid fertilizer applicator has
just been imported from Michigan where liquid
is used very extensively. At one centre the fer-
tilizer dealer has over 200 of these machines
available to farmers at a low rental cost. It is
most versatile for use of applying liquid fertilizer.
Here's how:
1. Attached behind a solid fertilizer seed
drill it pumps and applies liquid fertilizer into
the fertilizer shoe as the seed is planted. It can
handle an eight row corn planter. It holds five
tons—the load is on the trailer not the planter.
Solid planters can now sow liquid.
2. Attached behind a tractor it will broad-
cast by boom, liquid fertilizer to cultivated fields
or pasture land.
3. It will top dress liquid nitrogen to wheat
crops or corn stalks for plow down.
4. It can be attached to a cultivator when
cultivating weeds. Fertilizer can be fed to culti-
vator teeth thus applying additional fertilizer be-
tween the rows if required, while doing the cul-
tivating.
5. The trailer is set low so that its tank
can be filled with liquid through gravity flow
from nurse tank on truck or wagon.
