Mrs. Dave O'Neil was the win-
ner of the blanket in a draw at
the Legion Hall Wednesday night
sponsored by the Legion Auxil-

and Exeter met with Amber Re-
bekah Lodge last Wednesday
evening January 6 to meet As-
sembly President Mrs. Audrey
Whitehead of Orillia and Grand
Master Amos Osbaldstan a n d

Deputy President.
Noble Grand Mrs. George Clif-
ton presided. District D e pu t y
President Mrs. Edna Caldwell
was also present. Pride of Huron
Lodge, Exeter conferred the de-
gree on two members.
A banquet in Carmel Presby-
terian Church preceded the meet-
ing and all visiting dignitaries
were presented with corsages.
New librarian
for Hensall
Mrs. Robert Cameron, who has
been an efficient and popular
librarian for 35 years, has tend-
ered her resignation,
In 1948 Mrs. Cameron attended
a short course for librarians and
received her E certificate for
librarians,
When the Library Board ac-
cepted her resignation in No-
vember they asked her to con-
tinue in an advisory capacity and
she agreed.
Mrs. Hilliard Lawrence has
been appointed librarian in her
place.

Thursday night Hensall defeated
Blyth 5-0. In a game at Hensall
Saturday night Hensall defeated
Zurich 11-0. Goal getters for
Hensall were Jim Cooper with
3 goals; Murray Glanville 2;
Ricky Parker 2; Doug Mock,
Gary Sararas, Larry Ferguson,
Brian Campbell, each had sin-
gles.
Goalie was Gary Clement;
coach, Wayne Smith; manager,
Harold Caldwell; stick boy, Dan-
ny Smith. Up to date this active
young team has had five wins
and three losses.
Saturday night January 15Hen-
sall will play Brussels at Hensall
Arena, game time, '7 pm.

Fellowship Hall Thursday after-
noon for the first meeting of 1960,
with an attendance of twenty eight
ladies. Mrs. James McAllister,
leader, presided.
Mrs. Albert Alexander had
charge of the devotional. Mrs.
Jarvis Horton, who was respon-
sible for the study, introduced
Rev. H. F. Currie who gave an
inspiring interpretation of the
Shepherd's Psalm. Mrs. McAl-
lister expressed thanks and ap-
preciation to Mr. Currie.
Mrs. McAllister read an in-
teresting article on the "Feast
Of the Epithany" which ended
January 6.
Mrs. W. B. Cross gave a fa-
vorable report of the treasury.
All members of the unit form
the visiting committee and are
to report calls at the next meet-
ing.
The quilting bee project was
discussed which usually takes
place in February. Anyone wish-
ing to have any quilting done may
contact Mrs, J. Flynn.
A motion was passed that the

George Stewart
George Stockdale Stewart, 67,
of Courtright passed away Mon-
day in South Huron Hospital,
Exeter. The deceased had been
a patient at the Queensway Nurs-
ing Home, Hensall.
Surviving is a brother John,
Courtright, sisters, Mrs. Edwin
(Pearl) White, Mrs. Bert (Ruby)
Prowse, both of Mooretown, Mrs.
Cecil (Anne) Moon of St. Thomas.
Funeral service was held Wed-
nesday at 3 pm from the D. J.
Robb funeral home, Sarnia. Bur-
ial in the Union Cemetery,
Mooretown.
