Hensall women meet
for Christmas program
The UCW general Christmas
meeting of Hensall United Church
was held Monday evening with a
good attendance of all four units.
Each unit met separately at 7;30
to take care of any business
transactions. At eight o'clock,
the seventy one ladies came to-
gether in Friendship Hall for the
meeting, which was in charge of
Units one, two and three. Mrs.
Ron Mock presided and gave
the devotional on ' The Miracle
of Christmas." Christmas carols
were sung with Mrs. Wm. Fuss
as accompanist. Mrs. Robert
Reaburn told the Christmas story
"Backwards to Christmas".
Mrs. Edison Forrest conducted
a candle lighting service "The
light shineth in darkness". She
was assisted by Mrs. John Cor-
bett, Mrs. Ella Drysdale, Mrs.
Harry Hoy, Mrs. Harvey Keys,
and Mrs. Wes Richardson, rep-
resenting, expectancy, mystery,
childhood, otherlines s, and
thankfulness.
Mrs. Howard Currie took the
chair for the business, was plea-
santly surprised when Mrs. Wal-
ter Spencer, past president, pre-
sented her with a gift and ex-
pressed how thoroughly she had
been appreciated as president,
and were so pleased that she
will carry on for another year.
All units are changing for the
coming year. It was reported the
bale arrived safely in Toronto
and weighed 238 lbs. All sec-
retaries are to present a written
report for the general meeting
on Dec. 29 at 2:30 which is under
the supervision of Unit 4, a final
meeting to close all transactions
of the year.

friendship and visitation work,

in Christmas emblems was the
setting for the Legion Ladies
Auxiliary meeting Tuesday eve-
ning, Dec. '7, when Mrs. Harold
Campbell was elected president
for 1966.
Other officers are: past pre-
sident, Mrs. Roy Smale; vice
presidents, Mrs. Howard Smale,
Mrs. Garnet Allan; secretary,
Mrs. W. H. Bell; treasurer, Mrs.

Christmas trees
Hensall Kinsmen held a dinner
meeting Thursday night, Decem-
ber 9, at the Kosy Korner and
had as their guest Doug Marcell,
who is on the staff of the Bank
of Montreal.
Christmas trees, an annual
project of the club, are on sale
and can be seen at the lot on
King street adjacent to Crest
Hardware.
It was disclosed that the re-
cent peanut drive was success-
ful. Packages left over can be
purchased from any Kinsmen
member and also at Hensall Mot-
ors Sales. Reid's Texaco, Hyde's
Implement Shop, and Charlie's
Auto Sales. President Jim Hyde
chaired the meeting.
Junior choir
present gifts
A large congregation attended
the Sunday Church School White
Gift service at the United Church,
a special service of the Christ-
mas season sponsored by the
students of the church school,
with the church beautifully decor-
ated in Christmas motif.
John Goddard directed the ser-
vice, Miss Lois Simmons read
scripture passages and Carolyn
Cook presented the story. Doug
and Tim Mock rendered a duet,
and a trio composed of Linda
Mock, Nancy Kyle, and Joyce
Flynn sang.
The junior choir led in the
Christmas music singing two se-
lections. The junior choir of the
Sunday School filed by the altar
and presented white gifts for the
world's needy and hungry. Ushers
were Gary Kyle, Michael Davis,
Paul Drysdale and Michael Hoy.

slate of officers which was pre-
sented by Mrs. W. B. Cross.

the annual Christmas children's
party was set for Sunday after-
noon, December 19. Life mem-
bers and shut ins will be remem-
bered with gifts at Christmas;
The money doll draw will be
held Christmas Eve. The two
adopted veterans at Westminster
will be remembered at Christ-
mas.
Members were informed that
there was a splendid response
to the recent potato chip blitz,
some 275 packages being sold.

over by the president Mrs. Roy
Smale. Bingo was played and a
Christmas lunch served.
PSI change
is announced
Physicians' Services Incor-
porated today announced that,
effective in January, 1966, de-
pendent children to age 21 will
be covered under family agree-
ments in all P.S.I. plans at the
regular family subscription
rates. At present, dependent chil-
dren are included in family plans
until they become 19 years old.
A dependent child is defined
as a subscriber's unmarried
child, step-child or legally adopt-
ed child who resides with him
and is not regularly employed.
Students attending university may
qualify as dependents.
P.S.I. subscribers who have
dependent children between 19
and 21 may make application for
coverage under this revision.
Those covered in employee
groups may obtain application
forms from their group leaders.
Subscribers who pay their sub-
scriptions direct to P.S.I. may
obtain forms from the P.S.I.
office if they have not already
received forms through the mail.
