These budding stars use empty chocolate bar boxes for goal posts which shift a- round quite frequently and it is easy to understand why there is a difference of opinion as to what was a legal goal. This will be corrected shortly as a set of pint sized nets have been ordered for the boys. The Midget houseleague last Thursday was a flop due to only four players turning out for the game. In the meantime these few midget players will be placed on the bantam houseleague teams which play on Tuesday at 7 p.m. If in the next few weeks enough midgets come out to warrant having a houseleague we will again try to form teams. The Junior Hawks are at home this Friday to Belmont. The Figure Skating Club has close to 90 members registered for the season which is very gratifying to the executive. The Rec. League starts this Thursday at 8 o'clock with the Old Timers and Bank Boys in the first game while Graham & Graham vs Crediton hook up in the second game which starts at 9:30. Courtney tied the score at 3-3 after Lambeth had led through- out the first two periods. The hustling centre then added two more tallies with less than two minutes remaining to give the locals their first victory. Noel Skinner set up John Court- ney for his first period goal while Brian Tuckey scored the second Exeter goal with Paul Robinson and Terry Janke pick- ing up assists on the play. The Exeter club will meet Strathroy next Saturday in Lu- can in their next Shamrock Lea- gue encounter. New postage stamps issued The Honourable Rene Tremb- lay, Postmaster General, desig- nated January 19, 1966 as being the release date for two new stamps featuring the floral emb- lems and armorial bearings of the Province of Saskatchewan and Alberta. These large size stamps will be the ninth and tenth in the floral emblem series which began in May, 1964. The prairie lily was chosen as Saskatchewan's floral emblam in 1941. This stamp is printed in brown, green and orange. Alberta adopted the wild rose as its of- ficial emblem in 1930. Tones of red and green were used to print this stamp. By virtue of their victory Lorne Haugh's bantam club now has a Shamrock League record of 2-1. Eight different players con- tributed goals in the convincing victory as goaltender Mike Mc- Laughlin played a steady game throughout and was particularly outstanding in the third frame when he stopped a couple of clean breakaways. Barry Baynham, Larry Haugh and Jim Guenther each scored in the first frame to give the winners a 3-0 lead while de- fensemen Don Farrell and John Braid increased the lead to 4-0 with second period tallies. Ron Lindenfield and Bob Rowe added third period goals to complete the rout. Dale Parkin gave ..the Exeter Pee Wees a 1-0 lead early in the second period of the pee wee encounter but Huron H e ights spoiled the locals victory bid when they scored with less than three minutes remaining in the game.
