Weatbeldq, Was resident of Hensall Mrs. William Dunlop, 60, a resident of Hensall for the past year, passed away suddenly with a heart attack at her apartment Wednesday evening, November 17. She was the former Mary McClymont of Scotland, coming to Canada nine years ago. Surviving are a son Thomas Dunlop, London, England; four daughters, Mrs. William (Wil- helmina) Shearer, RR2 Kippen; Janet, London; May, Watford; Moira, Montreal. Her husband predeceased her some years ago in Scotland. Public funeral services were held from the Bonthron funeral chapel Saturday, November 20/ at 12 noon conducted by Rev. J. C. Boyne. Interment was in Mc- Taggart's cemetery. By MRS. L. PRESZCATOR The United Church Young Peo- ple met Monday, November 22. The worship service was in charge of Elaine Whitney and Ronald Kenney. Everyone enjoyed films shown by Rev. R. Hiltz on religious prejudice and also on the Jewish Church. A social half hour was enjoyed. PERSONALS Visiting with Mr. & Mrs. Al- len Pfaff and family on the week- end was Bill Jennison of Grand Bend. Mr. & Mrs. G. E. Wenzel visit- ed Sunday at Millbank with her brother and sister-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Wesley Krotz, who cele- brated their 40th wedding anni- versary. Mrs. Ed. Hendrick is a patient at the Methodist Hospital at Ro- chester Minnesota after having undergone surgery. Mr. & Mrs. Richard Hosking and Real and Miss Mousseau of Toronto visited this week with Mr. & Mrs. Sam King. Mr. & Mrs. Lorne Preszcator and boys visited Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Robert Preszcator and Robbie of London. Mr. William Hodge and Mrs. Gordon Slaght are still patients at Victoria Hospital but are both progressing nicely. Mrs. F. W. Morlock, who was a patient at South Huron Hos- pital, has returned home but is still confined to her home. Mrs. Lorne Hodge and Mrs. Clayton Colquhoun of Kirkton left this weekend to visit relatives at Vancouver, B.C. Hyde Fred H. Hyde of Hensall has been awarded a $200 scholarship by the Steel Company of Canada Limited at the annual presentation of scholarships of the Hamilton In- stitute of Technology Tuesday evening. He is a student of elec- tronics technology. Rebekah lodge plan meeting At the meeting of Amber Re- bekah Lodge Wednesday evening, presided over by Noble Grand Mrs. George Clifton, plans were discussed for the annual Christ- mas meeting to be held the sec- ond meeting in December, when members will exchange gifts, and a donation for theSick Children's Hospital will be received. A social hour of games, crok- inole, and euchre followed with lunch was enjoyed. Large crowd for square dancing A larger-than usual crowd at- tended the weekly Exeter Pro- menaders' Club night when three additional clubs visited for the evening last Wednesday. Clubs attending were the S e af or th Whirlaways, with their caller, Egbert Jacobs of Brunner, the Clinton Wheel 'n Dealers, and Clinton Cross Trailers, who share their caller, Earl Bowles, with the Promenaders. There were also visitors from Goderich. This Saturday the South West- ern Square Dance Association (SWOSDA) Workshop and meet- ing will be held at RCAF Station Clinton. During the afternoon, new square dance movements are introduced and a new round dance is taught. New callers are given an opportunity to practice to a floor of dancers. • Those who attend the afternoon and evening sessions bring a box lunch, and coffee and tea are pro- vided. A large crowd attends in the evening, which is divided up between three callers. Dancers travel from all over South Western Ontario to attend SWOSDA sessions, which are held alternately in London and other centres in this area each month. Murray Baker injures foot Murray Baker received Inju- ries to his foot in an accident Monday afternoon and will be confined to his home for a week. Murray, who was working on a roof, had stepped onto the ladder to come down when it slipped at the bottom causing him to fall twelve feet to the ground. X-rays taken at South Huron Hospital revealed the injuries. Crest hardware hold open house Crest Hardware, Hensall, had its annual open house Tuesday evening, November 16. Many fam- ilies took advantage of this to see all the new gift items for Christ- mas. Santa Claus was also in at- tendance at the toyland of Crest Hardware. Children r eceived free candy canes from Santa and adults were given coffee and doughnuts. Set store hours for Hensall Santa Claus will visit Hensall Saturday, December 11 at 2 pm at the Town Hall, followed with a free picture show for the chil- dren in the hall, and treats of candy and chocolate milk, Stores will open every Monday in December and will be open Wed night, Dec 22 and Thursday night Dec 23. They will close Christmas eve Dec. 24 at 6.30. After Christmas stores will be open Friday nights only; closed Saturday night for Jan. Feb. March and April. There will be free skating in Hensall Arena Saturday afternoons sponsored by Businessmen of Hensall. Two will attend Toc Alpha meet Eighteen were present at the Hi-C Youth Fellowship meeting at the United Church Sunday ev- ening with Gary Kyle and his group in charge. The Young People will have a booth at the Snowflake bazaar this Saturday and will sell cal- endars. They will also conduct a Christmas service Sunday Dec. 19, Robert McNaughton and Miss Lois Simmons were appointed representatives to the Toc Alpha Convention at Niagara Falls in the new year. Mrs. Archie Noakes has re- turned home from St. Joseph's Hospital, London, where she was a patient for six weeks recovering from surgery. Mrs. Stanley Mitchell is a patient in Victoria.Hospital where she underwent surgery. Mrs. James Bozzato and infant daughter Dana Marie, left Monday for their home in Foyrnount, On- tario, after spending over two months with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Kyle, Kippen. Miss Margie Allan, who was a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, with complications fol- lowing a tonsil operation, has returned home. Twelve student nurses at the South Huron Hospital were pre- sented with Bibles last Wednes- day evening by members of the South Huron Auxiliary of the Gideon Society. Mrs. Edgar Cud- more, president arranged the program and assisted Mrs. Elzar Moussea.0 and Mrs. Don Jolly with the presentation. In addition Miss A. Claypole, administrator and Mrs. J. Delbridge, instruct- ress, were presented with white Bibles. Mrs. Cudmore presided over the program, and Mrs. Mina Talbot of 13ayfield read the 91st Psalm. Mrs. Jack Thompson, Seaforth was the guest speaker and Mrs. Don Jolly, Exeter, gave the dedication prayer. Mrs. Cecil Kipfer, Hensall, soloist sang "My Task". Miss Bonnie Baker of the RNA Class thanked the ladies on behalf of the class. Following the program a social hour of getting acquainted was enjoyed and the ladies of the auxiliary served refreshments. Driver slightly injured Saturday An accident occurred Saturday night on Sideroad 15, one and a quarter miles south of Hensall in Hay Township just off the highway, involvingBartliff's Bak- ery truck, Clinton. Driver of the truck Raymond Hoggarth of Huron Road, God- erich, was travelling east on the sideroad when the truck skidded and rolled over into afield. Dam- ages to the truck amounted to $1200.00. Driver escaped with bruises and cuts. OPP Harry Reid of Exeter Detachment investigated. Feted on birthday Mrs. Alice Joynt, celebrating a birthday Tuesday evening, Nov- ember 16 for which Mrs. Eliza- beth Riley was hostess at her home, was honored by neighbors and friends who presented her with a potted plant. The address was given by Miss M. Ellis and presentation by Mrs. Riley. For entertainment euchre was enjoyed with four tables in play and winners of first prize were Mrs. William Smale; consolation Mrs, Beverly Beaton; lone hands, Mrs. Walker Carlile; lucky cup, Mrs. J. Ferguson; lucky chair, Mrs. E. Farquhar. The party was arranged by Mrs. Beaton, Mrs. E. J. Willert, Mrs. Riley.
