an answer on water for several
weeks and since none had been
received, Grand Bend should wait
no longer to continue with their
plans.
A resolution from council will
be sent to the Hon. J. W. Spoon-
er and Lambton MLA Lorne Hen-
derson unanimously supporting
the autonomy of utility commis-
sions in individual municipali-
ties.
Cam Chapman and Lawrence
Mason from Grand Bend's Pub-
lic Utilities Commission said
a move was afoot to have such
commissions administered by
council.
"There is a growing tendency
to reorganize municipal govern-
ment and to bring all commis-
sions, including hydro, under the
administration of council," said
Chapman. "It is a means to raise
funds without taxation on property
but could become apolitical foot-
ball."
Council learned that RCAF Sta-
tion Centralia's Brass Band will
appear on council's behalf at the
Winter Sport's Club Parade in the
village at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday,
December 11.
