A resolution from council will be sent to the Hon. J. W. Spoon- er and Lambton MLA Lorne Hen- derson unanimously supporting the autonomy of utility commis- sions in individual municipali- ties. Cam Chapman and Lawrence Mason from Grand Bend's Pub- lic Utilities Commission said a move was afoot to have such commissions administered by council. "There is a growing tendency to reorganize municipal govern- ment and to bring all commis- sions, including hydro, under the administration of council," said Chapman. "It is a means to raise funds without taxation on property but could become apolitical foot- ball." Council learned that RCAF Sta- tion Centralia's Brass Band will appear on council's behalf at the Winter Sport's Club Parade in the village at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 11. By MRS. ROBERT RUNDLE The messengers met in the church basement Sunday morning with the President Shirley Timms on the chair. Joy Thacker, Jeanette Hooper, L ind a Tomlinson and Janice Thomson gave a choral reading "My Favorite Verse". Debra Jaques gave a piano solo. Carl Langford read the scripture. Bobby Strachan and Paul Parkin- son took up the offering. The meeting was closed with a recreational period conducted by Graham Robinson. cp-cFgrt:Nrzge:i.=.141:Mc:m u:Kt,tvfsi v- e‘I TWO ACT CHRISTMAS ji: OPERETTA A •a: q § "Xmas with the Old Woman in the Shoe" • i § i 1 A o g 0 Adults 75.$ Children 25e .=?t•icl?.4.1":tc<7:FAII:F.tiwAiv?Atz,?.4.1'sq BAZAAR Bake Sale & Tea Main St. United Church School Room SAT.
