Cl bowling tournament held in Exeter last week. They are, Muriel
Irvine, Helen Casemore, Jo English, Norma Strong, Nora Smalldon,
Minor hockey houseleague
started for 65-66 season
and Doris Remington. Branches from throughout the area took part
in the two day tournament.
By ALVIN WILLERT
On Saturday, November 13, the
Minor Hockey Houseleague will
get underway for another season
of hockey for all. The Pee Wee
league will start at 8 am each
Saturday and will comprise a
four team league with 2 games
each week. To date we have 44
boys registered in this Pee Wee
group with a few more expected
to register in the next few weeks.
This Saturday the Black Hawks
will play the Canadiens from 8-9
and the Wings will take on the
Maple Leafs from 9-10.
Following the Pee Wee games
the next group to take to the ice
will be the Novice teams. This
is the older boys in what 'was
formerly the Squirt division and
they will have the ice from 10-
11. The names of the teams are
Red Wings captained by Doug
Fairbairn and Blue Wings whose
captain is Brian Vickerman.
From 11-12 we will have the
same arrangement as last year
with 2 teams we will call the
Squirts playing from the south
end to the far blueline. The names
The Plumbers registered a
4-1 win over the seventh place
Cleaners on Friday night to take
over sole possession of first
place in the Exeter Legion Mixed
Dart League with 16 points, one
more than the Sharpshooters and
Featherflights who are tied for
second.
• In other Friday night action
the Sharpshooters edged the Itchy
Four 3-2 while the Featherflights
and Blue Birds defeated the Le-
gionnaires and Champs by 4-1
scores.
The Legionnaires are current-
ly in fourth place with 13 points
while the Itchy Four and Blue
Birds are tied for fifth position
with 12 points each. The Cleaners
have nine points while the last
place Champs have eight points
after the fifth week of competi-
tion.
Bill Smith still leads all men
players in games won for the
season with nine while A nne
Romaniuk and Marg Wragg are
tied for the ladies league with
five each.
LEGION STILL SECOND
The Corporal A team whipped
the Airmen B squad by a '7-3
score on Wednesday night to
remain one point up on the Exeter
Legion in the RCAF Centralia
Inter-Mess Dart League. The
locals brought their season point
total to 30 by defeating the fourth
place Airmen A team '7-3.
The third place Sergeants who
of these 2' teams are Detroit and
Toronto. Larry minderline will
lead the Detroit team with Danny
Brintnell looking after the Tor-
onto team.
The last division will be the
younger boys mainly from 5-'7
years and they will have the ice
from the far blueline to the end
boards to play their game. This
group we will call the Mites.
Following is a list of all play-
ers and their respective teams.
It is hoped the boys will study
this and on Saturday come out to
play knowing which team they are
on and what time to play. If by
chance I have left out any young
hockey player come to the Arena
this Saturday and you will be
placed on a team.
After school skating will be
held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The Figure Skating Club had a
goodly number register on Mon-
day but there is always room for
one more. So be on hand next
Monday at 4:30-5:30 if you would
like to take Figure Skating les-
sons.
have 24 points edged the Cor-
poral B squad by a 6-4 score
in the other game of the evening.
After the first five weeks the
Airmen A club is in fourth place
with 20 points while the Corporal
B and Airmen B are in the last
two positions with 19 and 18
points respectively.
Joe Berthelet still holds a
slim margin over Norm Fergu-
son in games won for the season.
Berthelet has won 11 games while
Ferguson Is right behind with 10.
Last Thursday night in London,
an Exeter team that is sponsored
by Brock Tire and captained by

Rose Memorial Trophy by de-
feating 24 other teams. The Exe-
ter squad will hold the trophy for
