London were recent visitors with
the latter's parents, Mr. & Mrs.
Harold Parker and Patsy.
Mrs. Margaret Henderson, who
has been a patient in South Huron
Hospital, Exeter, for the past
several weeks returned to her
home Monday.
Mr. & Mrs. Melvin Orr, Ches-
ley, visited for a few days last
week with Mr. & Mrs. R. A.
Orr.
Mr. & Mrs. Eric Kennedy have
returned after a visit with rela-
tives in Fenelon Falls and Bur-
lington.
Mr. & Mrs. R. A. Orr, Mr.
& Mrs. Melvin Orr, spent last
Wednesday with Mr. & Mrs. Jim
Orr, Parkhill, and enjoyed the
fowl supper served by the ladies
of the United Church there.
Mrs. Frank Dalton, who is on
the teaching staff of Hensall Pub-
lic School is a patient in South
Huron Hospital, Exeter, where
she underwent surgery this week.
Mrs. Eva Parker of London,
who has disposed of her property
on Mill Street, spent the weekend
here.
Mrs. James Sangster returned
to her home Friday after receiv-
ing treatment in South Huron
Hospital, Exeter.
The November meeting of Hen-
sail Women's Institute, with the
theme “Public Relations" will
be held in the Legion Hall Wed.

Grades 6, 7 and 8 of Hensall
Public School canvassed the vil-
lage Friday afternoon and col-
lected $53.86 for UNICEF.

has been a patient in Clinton

Hospital for the past eight weeks
returned home Monday of this

stock, were Sunday guests with
Mr. & Mrs. Sim Roobol.
Mr. Ben Tinney, who has been
a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London, the past two weeks,
underwent surgery Friday of last
week.

at the local arena Saturday night.

Guest speaker at the dinner
meeting of Hensall Kinsmen Club
Thursday evening was Mait Ed-
gar, past Governor of District I,
and Liberal candidate for Huron
Riding in the Federal Election.
He was introduced by Ron Ware-
ing.
President Jim Hyde chaired
the business meeting, when plans
for a peanut drive of the village
will be made in the near future.
PRESENTATION
A presentation and shower with
cards for Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Hor-
dstrom who recently moved to
Strathroy and Mr. and Mrs.
O'Nile Forget (the former Caro-
line Little) of Sarnia Saturday
evening at Klondyke school was
sponsored by Mrs. Fred Burley
and Bruce Romphf,
The former was presented with
a coffee table and centre piece
and the latter a miscellaneous
shower. Relatives of Mrs. Forget
present were Mr. and Mrs.
Wm. Northcott and son, Mr. and
Mrs. Glen Northcott of Exeter
and the Littles.

returned from a 10-day visit
with Mr. & Mrs. Ron Webb and
Mary of Winnipeg.
Mr. & Mrs. George Bullock
of Zurich visited Mr. & Mrs.
H. Prance Monday.
Mr. & Mrs. Maurice Desjar-
dine and sons visited Mr. & Mrs.
Roy Pawlinski of Fort Erie over
the weekend.

Catharines attended the 25th wed-
ding anniversary of Mr. & Mrs.
George Waite of Thedford Satur-
day.
Mr. & Mrs. John Wilson and
Norman attended the 25th wedding
anniversary of the latter's broth-
er, Mr. & Mrs. Jim Marriott of
Strathroy Saturday.
Quite a number attended the
funeral of the late James Stubbs,
a pioneer, on Tuesday. Interment
was in Ward's Cemetery.

armoured vehicles with unit col-
ors Friday noon in London was
a farewell before embarking for
Germany.

Sewing group
met Saturday
The sixth meeting of the Thrifty
Kippenettes was held at the home
of Mrs. Charles Eyre, Saturday,
October 30. The minutes were
read by Gwen McLean and Dianne
McKay was nominated secretary
for the next meeting.
The girls learned how to put
on lace and Mrs. Eyre told them
how to apply eyelet. The next
meeting will be held November
3 at '7 o'clock at Mrs. Robert
Gemmell's home.
Club entertains
at Goderich
Patients at Ontario Hospital,
Goderich, were treated to an
evening of entertainment Wed-
nesday evening October 2'1 when
the Hensall Klnettes and Kinsmen
visited the hospital.
Bingo was played and prizes
given.
One of the highlights of the
evening was dancing with the
patients participating. Music fur-
nished by Mrs. Wayne Smith on
the accordion; John Reid, guitar;
Jack Simmons, banjo; and Lloyd
Deitrich from Zurich (a patient)
on the violin.

Couple celebrate
25th Anniversary
A surprise party for Mr. and
Mrs. Roy Smale at Staffa Hall
Friday evening arranged by rela-
tives and friends on the occasion
of their twenty fifth wedding anni-
versary was much enjoyed and
largely attended.
Mr. and Mrs. Smale were pre-
sented with a purse of money.
The address was read by Ted
Roberts, and the presentation
made by Mrs. George Boa. The
celebrants also received many
other gifts.
Dancing was enjoyed with mu-
sic provided by the Norris Or-
chestra. Lunch was served.

Mrs. Gordon Kaitting of God-
erich will be guest soloist at
Carmel Presbyterian Church this
Sunday morning November 7.
UNITED CHURCH
A special service of remem-
brance will be held at the morn-
ing worship this Sunday morning.
A short Legion-sponsored
wreath-laying ceremony will take
place at the Cenotaph at 10:30
am. The Legion parade will then
proceed to the church where they
will be guests for the service
of worship.
Unit 4 UCW will meet Thurs-
day afternoon Nov. 4 at 2:30 pm.

The bazaar, bake sale, and tea
held in Chiselhurst United Church
Friday, October 29, sponsored by
the UCW was very successful and
one of the best and well patronized
with many attending from Exeter,
Hensall, Cromarty, Kippen, Staf-
fa and chiselhurst.
Mrs. Howard Currie officially
opened the bazaar, held in the
church schoolroom beautifully
decorated in autumn tones.
In charge of the bake table
were Mrs. T. Brintnell, Mrs. C.
Coleman, Mrs. R. Taylor, Mrs.
R. Brock, Mrs. Ross Riley; vege-
