Mrs. Ruth Watson, Exeter, ex-
changed marriage vows before
Rev. J. B. Clark.
Given in marriage by her fa-
ther the bride chose a floor-
length gown of lace over satin
with round neckline and lily point
sleeves. A rose headpiece held
her French illusion veil and she
carried red roses.
Maid of honor was Miss Mary
Lou Boyle and bridesmaid was
Karen Rimmer and junior brides-
maid, Brenda May Rimmer. The
maid of honor was gowned in
blue and the bridesmaids in pink.
They carried yellow mums.
Best man was Donald Watson,
brother of the groom. Grooms-
men were Jim Rimmer and Leo-
nard Rimmer, brothers of the
bride and ushers were Robert
Hodgins and Lloyd Rimmer, bro-
ther of the bride.
For travelling to Niagara Falls
the bride donned a two-piece
blue suit with white accessories.
The couple will reside in Lon-
don.

PEAR HELENE
For each serving of Pear Helene use 2 canned Canadian
Bartlett peer halves which have been drained and chilled.
Place them, stem end up, in a sherbet glass or bowl.
Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream between the pear
halves and drizzle with chocolate syrup.
CHOCOLATE SYRUP
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1 cup water
2 cups sugar
dash of salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 tablespoons butter
Cut chocolate in pieces and stir over low heat in water
until dissolved and thick and smooth. Add sugar and salt.
Stir until dissolved. Boil 3 minutes and add vanilla and
butter. Serve hot or cold. May be stored in covered jar
in refrigerator and reheated.

Home and School.
A large crowd attended the
first meeting for the fall term
of Exeter Home & School Mon-
da.y night.
The program a f 'Meet Your
Child's 'reacher Night" was ar-
ranged by Mrs. A. Lindenfield,
Mrs. M. Gaiser and Mrs. J. Ful-
ler. Principal A. B. Idle intro-
duced his staff and then all par-
ents visited their children's
rooms.
Assisting the teachers were
Mrs. Cal Wein, Mrs. Art Clarke,
Mrs. L. Miller, Mrs. G. Webb,
Mrs. R. Tuckey, Mrs. R. Luxton,
Mrs. L. Cushman, Mrs. J. Ful-
cher, Mrs. F. Simmons, Mrs.
S. Frayne, Mrs. D. Parsons,
Mrs. A. Mathers, Mrs. J. Burke,
Mrs. W. Sanders, Mrs. W. Hunt-
ley and Mrs. J. Pryde.
President Mrs. A. Lindenfield
conducted the business. Lunch
was served by Mrs. Morley Hall
with the help of the Grade 8
mothers.

Raymond Jeffrey, RR 2 Zurich,
was best man and ushers were
Raymond Ducharme, Lester De-
nomme, Dennis Ducharme and
Peter Jeffrey.
The bride's mother was gowned
in a three-piece brown suit with
gold accessories and the groom's
mother chose a two-piece navy
blue dress with royal blue acces-
sories.
A dinner was served at the
Dominion Hotel, Zurich and lun-
cheon at the Dashwood Commu-
nity Centre with reception and
dance following.
For travelling to Niagar a
Falls, Midland and Blue Moun-
tains, the bride changed to a
green sheath with lace top with
black accessories.
The couple will reside in Lon-
don.

Thursday evening Mrs. Mac. La-

brought greetings and gave a
message "The Touch of Faith"
based on a sermon of Peter
Marshall's.
Mrs. J. C. Boyne led in the
devotional with a thanksgiving
theme and she and Mrs. Alex
IVIeikle sang a duet accompanied
on the piano by Mrs. Murray
Keys. Mr. Boyne conducted the
Bible study.
Wednesday several of the
members accepted an invitation
to meet with the Goderich WMS.
Hostesses were Mrs. Eliza-
beth Moore, Mrs. Cliff Ers-
man and Mrs. Jack Pryde.

Church Tuesday afternoon.
After a brief introduction by
Mrs. Arthur Rundle a film "The
Earth and Mankind" was shown
depicting the food potentials in
various parts of the world. Mrs.
James Smith presented mor e
facts on the food situation.
Mrs. Smith led in the devotional
on "Thanksgiving" and Mrs.
Hector Murray told a story on
the same theme.

for the meeting and members
were reminded of the south re-

were observing a fifteenth wed-
ding anniversary. They were pre-

was also a guest.
Mr. & Mrs. Fred Dobbs Jr.
and Freddie were weekend guests
of Mr. & Mrs. Robert Aitken,
Toronto and attended "Moscow
Music Hall" at the O'Keefe Cen-

Prior to departure for his
winter home in Florida Mr. Harry
S. McLean, Teeswater spent a few
days with his family Mr. & Mrs.
Fred Dobbs Jr. and Freddie.

Exeter, returned home from a
trip through the States Sunday
evening and were guests with
Mr. & Mrs. Earl Greenlee and
