The ladies of the WSWS from Dashwood, Zurich and Rodney are meeting here today, Thursday, September 30 with the Crediton WSWS as hostess for their fall rally. Mr. Carter is St. James cemetery superinten- dent and a past warden of the church. 4-H ELECT OFFICERS The Clandeboye 4-H homemak- ing club Working With Wool held its first meeting at the home of Mrs. Wilmer Scott Saturday. Miss Betty Ann Lewis was named president and Nancy Hardy secretary. Leaders are Mrs. Norman Hardy and Mrs. Scott. They decided to visit Artex Woollen Mills, Hespeler, to see the making of wool. INJURED BY CAR Wednesday evening Mr. Wil- liam Wilson, RR 1 Clandehoye, was hit while on the road by a car driven by Mr. Norman Har- graves of London. SERVICE AT ST. JAMES Sunday the Harvest Thanks- giving service was held in St. James church at 11 am with Rev. E. 0, Lancaster taking the service. He stressed the changes that had been effected in the church building through the ef- forts of its members and the need for a spirit of thanksgiving. Following the promotions of the children to their various classes twenty-three pupils were awarded seals and diplomas for attendance. CWL PLANS ACTIVITIES The first meeting of the fall season of the Catholic Women's League was held in St. Damien's school, Monday, September 20. Members had the opportunity of meeting their new director, Rev. J. W. Graham who recently replaced Rev. William Smith in this area. A report of the summer acti- vities was read and plans made for the winter season. Rev. Gra- ham plans to s tart advanced classes in catechism for high school students and other teen- agers.
