Entries were down somewhat
this year in the domestic and
home department at the Exeter
Fall Fair but the directors con-
sidered the quality higher than
usual. The unseasonal heat just
at the time, no doubt, had an
effect on the amount of baking
offered.
In the domestic classes Mrs.
Robert Down, RR1 Hensall, a
comparative new exhibitor, cap-
tured the most prizes with six
firsts and three seconds. Mrs.
Keith McLaren, Cromarty, walk-
ed off with four first and five
seconds while Mrs. Eben Weig-
and, Dashwood, last year's cham-
pion cook, had four firsts and one
second.
Mrs. Harold Simpson, Exeter,
took home three firsts and two
seconds, Mrs. Homer Russell
RR 1 Exeter, two firsts and one
second, Mrs. Percy Noels, one
first and two seconds, Mrs. Gor-
don A. Smith and Mrs. Robert
Luxton, Exeter, one first each
and Mrs. Gordon Dow, RR 1
Mitchell and Mrs. John Bruls, a
second prize each.

In the home-canned products
competition Mrs. Homer Russell
was awarded 10 first prizes and
two seconds; Mrs. Dave Cross,
Exeter, two firsts and two sec-
onds, Mrs. Keith McLaren, three
seconds; Mrs. Gordon A. Smith
and Mrs. Robert Rundle, two
seconds. Mrs. Robert Luxton one
first and Mrs. Gordon Dow, one
second,
For the home canned products
display Mrs. Dave Cross was
given first prize, Mrs. Homer
Russell, second and Mrs. Keith
McLaren third.
JAMS AND JELLIES
In the jams and jellies com-
petition Mrs. Russell took six
first prizes and one second; Mrs.
Robert Rundle, two firsts and one
second, Mrs. Cross, one first
and one second; Mrs. McLaren
three seconds and Mrs. Gordon
Smith and Mrs. Helen Triebner,
one second prize each.
HONEY, MAPLE SYRUP AND
CANDY
In the honey, maple syrup and
Clark Fishers
mark 49 years
Mr. and Mrs. Clark Fisher,
town, marked their 49th wedding
anniversary with a family turkey
banquet at the Shillelagh Motor
Hotel Sunday. Around 40 were in
attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Fisher
have 20 grandchildren and two
great grandchildren.
Also attending were Mr. and
Mrs. W. A. Fisher, Huntsville,
Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Davis, St.
Marys and Mrs. Myrtle Baker,
Crediton.
After the dinner the guests
returned to the Fisher home
for a social time.

four firsts; Mrs. Arnold Moth-
ers, three firsts and one second;
Mrs. Harold Simpson, Mrs. Wil-
liam Dougall, three firsts; Mrs.

seconds; Mrs. Tom Hern, two
firsts; Mrs. Robert Luxton, one

The Elimville WI special for
bazaar articles was won by Mrs.
Hugh Morenz, RR 2 Dashwood,
Mrs. Arnold Merrier, RR 3 Zur-
ich and Mrs. Arnold Mathers,
Exeter.
The Legion Ladies Auxiliary
met Monday night, at which time
Mrs. Larry Baynhp.m was initiat-
ed Into the Auxiliary.
Plans were made to hold a
pot luck supper at the next meet-
ing?

meeting the Auxiliary charter
was draped in memory of corn-
rade Mrs. Ray Broderick who
passed away earlier this month.
