Mr. Alfred F. Williams of Tri-
nidad, West Indies will teach
Grade XI and XII Mathematics and
Grade XIII Trigonometry at South
Huron District High School.
He completed his Primary and
Secondary Schooling in Trinidad.
Mr. Williams graduated from
University of Montreal in 1951
with a general B.A.
Mr. Williams has taught for
twelve years at St. Mary's Col-
lege, Trinidad where he taught
principally Mathematics and
some Science and French.
This summer he is taking the
Ontario College of Education
Course for high school teachers
at Westminster Secondary School
in London.
His interests include photo-
graphy, games and anything to do
with training of the young.
Mr. and Mrs. Williams and
their three girls will reside in
Exeter if they can find renting
accommodation.
Choir leader
Mrs. Doreen Osman will be
joining the staff of South Huron
District High School as a mathe-
matics teacher for grade 9 and
11.
Mrs. Osman received her
A.W.C.M. in piano from the
University of Western Ontario
in 1958. She was a graduate
of the St. Thomas Collegiate
Institute in 1959 and a graduate

with the Brodericks for a visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Brintnell
and family were camping at Al-
gonquin Park last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Jones and
Randy spent last week at their
cottage at Dorcas Bay, Bruce
Peninsula. Mr. and Mrs. Glen
Hayter, Sherri and Johnny of
Sarnia visited with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert South-
cott, Jane and Barry were on a
camping trip and attended the
World's Fair in New York last
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Andy Bierling and

home of the late Mrs. Cunning-
ham, Gidley St. moved here re-
cently.

their summer home at Bayfield
Wharfs. Mrs. Fritz gave a birth-
day dinner in honor of June and
Ken.
BROTHERS UNITED
Mr. Jacob Reder flew to Win-
nipeg Friday morning to visit
his yonngest brother, peter Re-
der, who was also on a visit
there from his home in Dussel-
dorf, Germany.
The brothers had not seen each
other for 36 years. They flew to
Toronto together Monday as Mr.
Peter Reder was on his way holne
to Germany.

She taught for one year with
the Oxford School Board and two
years for the London Board of
Education.
While teaching at the Ealing
Public School in London, Mrs.
Osman taught both junior and
senior choir and coached the
championship senior girls'
baseball team for the London
public schools.
In 1964 she graduated from
the University of Western On-
tario with a B.A. degree in
philosophy and music. She has
just completed a year of teach-
ing for the Stratford Central
Collegiate where she t au ght
grade 9 mathematics and grades
10 and 12 music, vocal and
instrumental.
This summer Mrs. Osman at-
tended a course at the Ontario
College of Education in Toronto
and is residing in Exeter.
Heads science
H. Vincent Elliott is the new
head of our Science Department.
He will be teaching mainly
Chemistry and Biology.
Mr. Elliott was born near
here at Granton on the old Lang-
ford homestead. He went to high
school at Wiarton, and after
attending Normal School at
Stratford, one of the first
schools he taught was at Whalen
Corners.
Mr. Elliott is a graduate from
Western University, and after
graduation he was a Continua-
tion School principal for many
years. Then he became head of
the Art Department and also the
Agriculture Dept. at Wallace-
burg for eight years.
Mr. Elliott was Head of the
Science Dept. at Whitby for
three years and Vice-principal
at Bancroft for three years.
He is known mainly as an
artist and writer and lecturer
on natural science topics and
p ar t-illustrator of "B ruce
Beckons" by Dr. Fox. He Is
looking forward to living in this
part of the country again and
renewing his natural science
activities.
Mr. Elliott will be spending
most of the summer with his
wife and family at his cottage
at Stokes Bay on Bruce Penin-
sula.
Rev. W. J. Maines of Londes-
boro, a former minister in the
United Church, will be the guest
speaker for the remaining Sun-
days in August in the United
Church.
The ladies of the United Church
are planning a bake sale on the
United Church lawn at Grand Bend
Friday at 2:30 pm.

FORMER CENTRALIA BOY DIES
IN BURLINGTON
W. Rex Mills, son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mills and
a former Centralia boy, died in
the Joseph Brant Memorial Hos-
pital, Burlington August 2. lee
was the husband of the late Reta
L. Ogilvie, formerly of Wyom-
ing.
He is survived by a daughter,
Mrs. Stan (Marilyn) Clarke, one
grandchild, Shawn Clarke, and a
brother, Truman Mills, Conine
Bay.
Interment was in Greenwood
Cemetery, Burlington,

family get-together at their cot-
tage in the Pinery, honoring Mr.
& Mrs. Elmore Dunn, Cathy and
Ronald of Toronto who were home

Although there were several
rained out games to be completed
the six clubs voted to eliminate
these games in order to get the
playoffs started, League playoffs
were scheduled to start last night
(Wednesday) with the L e gion
meeting the Lanes, the Airmen
playing the Old Timers and Cre-
diton facing the Kinsmen. Credi-
ton received two points for their
game on Monday since the Old
Timers failed to show and as a
result moved into third place
ahead of the Lanes and will play
the Kinsmen instead of the Le-
gion.
The league finals will begin
August 23,

entertained at breakfast Sunday
morning honoring their son, Mr.
& Mrs. Clayton. Abbott and Linda
who just arrived from Lynwood,
California, on a two week's va-
cation. Those attending were Mr.
& Mrs. H. Birtch of Paris, Mr.
& Mrs. Don Abbott and family,
Mr. & Mrs. J. Mugford and
Jamie of Lucan.
Mrs. Clarence McDowell and
daughter, Janet are spending this
week at the summer camp, God-

DEATH SCENT
Young wild animals, petted
by humans, are often abandoned
by their mothers, frightened
away by the smell of man. The

visited Sunday
Rev, and Mrs. Richard Van
Farowe formerly of Exeter and
now livi ng in Leamington were
weekend visitors to Exeter. Rev.
VanFarowe was the guest minis-
ter for two sermons Sunday at the
Bethel Reformed. Church on Hur-
on Street.
Rev. and Mrs. VanFarowe re-
sided in Exeter for eight and a
half years prior to his move to
Leamington some two months
ago. He is now pastor of the
Faith Reformed Church in Leam-
ington.
While visiting in Exeter the
couple called on many former
friends and acquaintances.
