Plymouth • Chrysler • Valiant • Fargo Trucks LT,: I Make sure of weather- tight construction. Like in- sulation, weathertight win- dows work the year around to cut your fuel and air con- ditioning bills. A combina- tion of face-to-face contacts, weatherstripping and pres- sure locking makes Dash- wood Windows up to 6 times more weathertight than com- mercial standards, thus cut- ting one of the major sources of heat loss in any home. 2 Choose the best sash and frame material: choose wood, the natural insulator. If sash and frame s are aluminum instead of wood, engineers calculate an ad- ditional heat loss of 21.5% for the total window area. That's because aluminum conducts heat and cold a full 1800 times as fast as wood. 3 Keep an eye on app e a r- anee. Skimpy, sterile-look- ing metal windows can give your home a cold, bleak ef- fect. Choose well designed wood windows. Dash wo o d Windows, blend with a ny style of architecture, con- temporary or traditional. 4 Look for a combination of different materials. No one material is best for all parts of a window. Wood provides beauty and insulation in sash and frames. Steel is best for working parts like hinges. Aluminum is ideal for screens and weatherstrip- ping. Only the best materials are used in aDashwood Win- dow to give greatest over-all satisfaction. IOW SPay special attention to window hardware. E very operation of a window de- pends upon its hardware— parts such as operators, hinge s, channels, lock s. Good hardware is attractive, strong — and looks it! 6 Choose windows that oper- ate easily. Quality windows are built to automatically —Continued from page 11 sic wood windows. The following year, 1964, another bold decision was made — to build a new build- ing from scratch instead of making yet another addition to the Dashwood plant. Centralia was decided on because of its proximity to both the Dashwood and Mount Brydges plants and because of its excellent highway con- nections. This meant that the two older plants could now spe- cialize, one in non-wood fit- tings, the other working in wood. Components would be shipped to Centralia for final assembly into windows. As of the 1st of January, 1965, Jim Finnen was pro- moted from sales manager to general manager of the company and put in charge of the Centralia plant. Jerry Finnen took over sales. In December 1963. when the Mount Brydges opera- tion began, the late "Bill" Klumpp was made manager take care of extreme tem- perature changes, variations in humidity that affect win- dow operation. Properly in- stalled and maintained, Dashwood Windows will operate trouble-free for the life of your home. 7 Make sure your windows are easy to clean. You can clean your operating Dash- wood Windows easily, safely from inside your home. Glide-vent windows, for ex- ample, have sash that lift right out. Other Dashwood Windows open wide enough so that you can clean the out- side glass from inside, too. and carried out his duties until his death Feb. 8, 1964. At this time Bill Reason was made the plant manager. Bill has a long history in the lumber and building pro- ducts field. He was with the Mount Brydges Lumber company for more than 30 years and has become a very important link in the Dash- wood chain. Howard Klumpp, as well as being secretary-treasur- er, is in complete charge of the Dashwood plant. Mau- rice Klumpp, being presi- dent, has the important job of co-ordination among the three plants, is head pur- chasing agent and is in full charge of machinery and production. The company is now re- presented by three salesmen in the field: Frank Benin out of Tillsonburg, Tony Van Wyck, Ridgetown and Stan Iutzi, Kitchener. The only thing for the Dashwood people to do now is to look to the future. But that's another story. History — Sales and Service MATHERS BROS.
