Learn latest facts of Dashwood windows
Pictured above a group of retail lumber dealers at a recent sales seminar at Dash-
wood Planing Mills showroom. These dealers are among over 700 who attend regular
sales seminars at which they get expert advice from trained Dashwood window experts.
This enables the dealers to pass this information onto to buyers seeking quality wood
windows. All Dashwood windows are sold through building supply dealers.

As all successful compan-
ies know, sales is the key
to that success. After all,
you can make the best pro-
duct in the world, but if
you can't effectively sell it,
your time and effort is was-
ted.
Dashwood Planing Mills
effectively solved their sel-
ling method by turning it over
to Canada's fastest growing
sales force--retail lumber
suppliers.
In 1961 the DashwoodPla-
ning Mills embarked on an
extensive dealer education
program in order to have
their distributors among the
most versed in modern met-
hods of window uses and ap-
plications.
This program has gained
such terrific popularity
through the past years that
up to 700 dealers and home-
builders have taken advan-
tage of these important mee-
tings.
The importance of these
sales seminars is shown in
the fact that Dashwood offers
more than 6,000 sizes and
types of windows with var-
ious glazing or storming op-
tions. In order for the lum-
ber dealer and contractor to
offer expert advice to the
potential user he must in
turn be trained by Dashwood
window experts.
Figures now show that
Dashwood's decision to turn
to the lumber dealers as a
sales force was indeed a
wise one. Building supply
dealers rank as one of the
most potent forces in the
retail distribution of goods
to the general public.
Their sales volume in
their wide range of products
last year ranked dealers in
ninth position for high sales
among the 18 separate retail
categories on which Ottawa
collects statistics. Grocery,
automobile, department
store, garage, restaurant,
furniture - appliance - radio
stores and general business-
es were the leading eight
categories.
Dealers from across Ont-
ario come to Dashwood's
modern show room and aud-
itorium to hear the latest
about windows and to view the
many models on display.
This enables them to an-
swer any questions posed to
them by home owners, pros-
pective builders and con-
tractors.
This modern, up-to-date
showroom is also available
to anyone who may wish to
examine all the types of
wood windows available.
These are on display in full
size samples at all times.
Many are also on display

We are proud to have had the name Kleinstiver associated with Dash-
wood Planing Mills for 18 years on so many different projects. One
we are most proud of is this steam engine, left, installed in the Dash-
wood plant generating electricity in the summer from wood shavings.
To reset and install this more than 50-year-old machine was one of
our greatest challenges. Above is part of the complex equipment to
purify the water for the engine.
We were responsible for all the installation of the manu-
facturing machines in the Centralia and Dashwood plants.
We are currently installing air conditioning, de-humidifying
and air filters in the glass room at Mount Brydges.
