The business session follow- ed the noon meal appointing Tony Schulman as president for 1966. Township school area 3 of Hibbert held their annual picnic on the school grounds Monday evening with a good crowd in attendance. A picnic supper was enjoyed after which the sports committee had charge of the races and relays. Rain inter- rupted the sports program. The address a welcome was given by the leader, Mrs. Ken Park- inson. A sing song led by Karen Rodd was then enjoyed, followed by the meditation byJoy Thack- er. Linda Tomlinson read apoem and the scripture was read by Shirley Timms. BettyJean Mil- ler read a story and Arlene Johns led in prayer. The offer- ing was received by Judy Dickey and Maxine IVIcCorquodale. A filmstrip, "Trip to Brasilia" was shown by Miss Jean Cope- land with Mrs. Lloyd Jaques, assistant leader as commenta- tor. A song was sung by the Explorer girls accompanied by Ann Parkinson at the piano. Graduation pins and certifi- cates were presented to Linda Tomlinson, Arlene Johns, Shir- ley Timms, Betty Jean Miller and Karen Rodd by Mrs. Ken Parkinson. An invitation was extended to the girls by Mrs. Glenn Copeland to join the CGIT. Mrs. Copeland also explained the purpose of the CGIT. Karen Rodd read a letter of apprecia- tion to the Explorer leader. MESSENGERS MEET The Messengers meeting for June was held on the church lawn during church service with the President Shirley Timms in charge. The theme of the meeting was "Being A Good Friend". Robin Dickey read the scrip- ture. Jeanette Hooper lead in prayer and Carl Langford read a poem. Mrs. T. Insley con- cluded the study book. President Norman Morons presided for the busi- ness. Mr. Orville Kahle, Kitchener, was elected the new president. It was voted to continue the reunions at the Brodhagen Com- munity Centre. There was a minute's silence for the ones passed away this year. Included were Mrs. Louise Morons, Kim Corbett and J. Jefferey. Mr. & Mrs. Don Adams were in charge of the sports. The person guessing the correct number of articles in an egg was Jack C or bet t; guessing number of candies in a jar, Mrs. Luella Wolfe. There was a tie on guessing the weight of a watermelon by Mr. Sal Snyder and Randy Adams. The oldest man present was Mr. Bill Boyd, Toronto; eldest lady, Mrs. Rhienhold Kahle, Mitchell; lady with the most jewelry, Mrs. Clara Wilson, London; man with the most pennies in his pocket, Mr. Sal Snyder, Windsor. The youngest baby was Jackie Chaffe, son of Mr. & Mrs. Bob Chaffe, Mitchell; the couple with the most children present was Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jeffery; per- son coming the farthest distance was Mrs. Anna Edey, Calgary.
