The Gordon Evening Auxil-
iary of Caven Church met at
the home of Mrs. William Sil-
lery Monday evening when it
was decided to hold the annual
picnic at Riverview Park June
30 at 6 pm inviting the families
to attend also,

concern for Those Who Come

Pink gladioli formed the flor-
al setting in Thames Road Uni-
ted Church, Saturday, June 12
at 4;30 pm for the ceremony
uniting in marriage Ann Marie
Rowe, daughter of Mr. and. Mrs.
Harold W. Rowe, RR 1 Wood-
ham, and Howard Douglas Ran-
nie, London, son of mr. and
Mrs. Sam Rennie, Hensall.
Rev, Hugh Wilson officiated
and Miss Agnes Bray, RR 1
Kirkton, played the weddi
music and accompanied the
soloist, Mrs. William Came,
RR 1 Hensall, who sang 0 Per-
fect Love and Wedding Prayer.
Given in marriage by her
father the bride wore a floor-
length gown of peau de sole with
elbow length sleeves, shallow
scoop neckline and e mpi r e
waistline. The A-line skirt had
a detachable train extending
from the waist by two roses of
peau de sole. Her shoulder-
length veil of silk illusion was
held by a wedding band head-
piece. She carried a cascade
of pink roses and gardenias.
Miss Janet Rowe, RR 1 Wood-
ham, sister of the bride, was
maid of honor and Miss Suzanne
Rennie, Hensall, sister of the
groom, and Miss Linda Glover,
Hamilton, were bridesmaids.
They were gowned alike in

alike in floor-length dresses
of pink crystal charm each
with flowing back panel. They
wore matching rose headpieces
Mr. Melick needed a better car—
badly. But where could he get the
money he needed to buy a newer
car? Fortunately for Mr. Melick
he thought of The Bank of Nova
Scotia. He went to his nearest
Scotiabranch and answered a few
quick questions about his job, in-
come and how much money he
needed . .
OVERNIGHT Fred Melick knew
he would have the money he need-
ed to buy that car. And this is not
an unusual case. Of course this
actual customer was not named

Jennison, Grand Bend, and John
Ross Bullock, son of Mr. and
Mrs. George Bullock, RR 3
Zurich, exchanged m ar riage
vows in the Mary Ellen Memor-
ial Chapel, Grand Bend, Satur-
day, June 12 at 2 pm.
Rev. M. J. James, Dashwood,
officiated and Mrs. C. Kennedy,
Grand Bend, provided tradition-
al wedding music and accom-
panied the soloist, Miss Jean
Kennedy, who sang I'll Walk
Beside You and The Old Rugged
Cross.
Escorted on the arm of her
father the bride wore a floor-
length gown of French Chantilly
lace fashioned with lily point
sleeves and bateau neckline.
The bouffant skirt fell in tiers
of lace sweeping to a chapel
train. A four-tier veil was held
in place by a crown of sequins
and seed pearls. She carried
a cascade of 18 pink Delight
roses, ivy and stephanotis cen-
tred with a white Bible pre-
sented by Peter E ise nb a c h,
founder of the chapel.
Miss Dianne Jennison, Grand
Bend, was maid of honor and
Mrs. Russell Thompson, Lucan,
and carried cascades of white
daisies and trailing ivy, Flower
girl was Miss Vickie Miller
gowned similarly to the other
attendants and carried a hand-
made crocheted basket with six
pink Delight roses and trailing
ivy. Ringbearer was Jimmy
Thompson.
Eldon Bullock, RR 3 Zurich,
was best man for his brother
and Russell Thompson and
Douglas Jennison u sh e r e d
guests.
A reception was held at the
Village Inn, Grand Bend. A
public reception was held later
in the Zurich Community Cen-
tre, Zurich, with Desjardine's
orchestra furnishing the music.
The couple will reside in
Green Acres, Grand Bend.
Main Street United Church,
Exeter, was the setting when
Gladys Louise Beckham became
the bride of Larry Carl Stire
in a double ring ceremony per-
formed by Rev. R. S. Hiltz.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Beckham,
Brantford, and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stire,
Exeter.
The bride chose a floor-
length gown of white brocade
satin. A wedding band headpiece
trimmed with lace and pearls
held her nylon net veil. She
carried a white Bible with a
spray of red roses and buds.
Mrs. Hazel Fletcher was her
sister's matron of honor wear-
ing a street-length dress of
blue nylon over taffeta. She
carried a cascade of red car-
nations and white daisies.
Wayne Glanville, Crediton,
was his cousin's best man and
ushers were Wilfred Beckham,
brother of the bride, and Ken-
neth Heinbuch, New Hamburg.
For travelling the bride wore
a blue nylon dress, white acces-
sories and a corsage of white
carnations.
The couple will live in Exeter.
Mrs Marian Tinney and Mr.
Chandler Livingstone will

instal officers
Tuesday evening, June 8, the
ladies of the Protestant Chapel
Guild RCAF held their final
meeting until September.
After the regular business
meeting there was an election
of officers after which Padre
Bonham conducted the worship
service and installed the new
executive. Organ music was
provided by Mrs. W. J. Bracken.
President Mrs. W. D. John-
ston thanked the out-going exe-
cutive and all members for fine
support and co-operation during
her term of office. Mrs. F. Koch
spoke on behalf of the members
expressing thanks and appre-
ciation. to Mrs. Johnstonfor her
fine leadership as president.
The meeting was turned over
to the new President Mrs. R.
E, Cousins who spoke a word of
thanks then asked that the meet-
ing be adjourned.
