The bride carried red roses. Miss Dale Hunt, London, was maid of honor and LindaClarke, niece of the bride, was brides- maid and Peggy Inroy, London, was junior bridesmaid. They were gowned alike in a qua street-length dresses of or- ganza over taffeta. Flower headdresses of organza petals held their illusion veils and they carried bouquets of pink and white mums and snap- dragons. Donald Thompson, Kitchener, was best man and Bob Clarke and Laverne Hamilton ushered guests. A reception was held at the American Tourist Court, Lon- don, where the bride's mother received guests in a powder blue jacket dress with Chantilly lace bodice, black accessories and corsage of pink and white mums. The groom's mother chose a blue floral dress with white accessories and corsage of pink and white mums, For a honeymoon spent in Montreal and Northern Ontario the bride travelled in a two- piece navy suit, with white Chel- sea blouse, navy accessories and corsage of pink roses. The couple will reside in London. Dashwood WI fetes grandmas Shipko By MRS. ERVIN RADER DASHWOOD June was Grandmothers' meeting of the Dashwood WI. The directors, Mrs. J. M. Tie- man, Mrs. Emil Becker a n d Mrs. Ralph Weber were in charge with Mrs. Tiernan, chairlady. Each one gave her age in response to the roll call. A sing song of old-time songs was enjoyed. A comical skit was given by Mrs. Flossie Stade and Mrs. Ervin Rader. A poem "Grand- mother's Day" was read by Mrs. Emil Becker. Mrs. Gerald Northcott from Reder's florist demonstrated the making of floral arrange- ments and these were presented to the grandmothers as follows: oldest, Mrs. Lucinda Mcisaac; most articles in her purse, Mrs. Thos. Klumpp; most but- tons on dress, Mrs. Oluf Peder- sen; largest shoe, Mrs. Elmore Daters; youngest, Mrs. Wm. Haugh; lucky chair, Mrs. Dan Weber. The president, Mrs. Syd Bak- er presided for the business. The Institute will entertain at Huronview, Clinton, for their birthday party on October 20. ATTEND GRADUATION Mrs. Ila McKenzie and her sister, Mrs. Charles Brand, Toronto, attended Convocation at the University of Western O ntario Saturday afternoon when their nephew Ross Amos of Ailsa Craig, graduated with his Honor Bachelor of Arts degree. They also attended the reception held in his honor by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Amos, at their home Saturday night. CLARE IRWIN Mrs. Clare Irwin of Fenelon Falls passed away in Lindsay hospital May 27 following a lengthy illness. Her husband was a former bank manager here. Burial was at Gananoque May 29. The Haig Farm is sowing beans and corn on Lake Smith, east side, with heavy equip- ment where it is (not too dry) on new land and combining a fall crop of corn and beans is also nearly finished. Dr. Haig- meier is in daily attendance. The Haig Farm have on order a new 4-row International Corn (combine) header. The Thedford bowlers played Sunday evening at Parkhill. Miss M. Teetzel of Ross Place is assisting Mrs. Wm. Davidson at the Turkey Bar. Mrs. Duncan is the former Myrtle Hunkin, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hun- kin, Usborne Township and Mr. Duncan is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Duncan also of Usborne Township. They were married June 9, 1915 at the home of the bride's parents by Dr. Colin Fletcher. They lived all their married life on their farm in Hibbert Township until retiring to Ex- eter 14 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Duncan have a family of three daughters, (J e an), Mrs. Robert Mayer, Thames Road, (Doris), Mrs. Lloyd Miller, Staffa, (Roberta) Mrs. JOhn Templeman, Staffa. His wife, two daughters, two brothers in Los Angeles and Seattle and one sister, Mrs. Fred A. {Gertrude) May, Exe- ter, survive. DAVIS, Man LIVE, BETTER ELECTRICALLY The 1st RCAF Station Cen- tralia Air Rangers held itsfirst enrolment ceremony June 1 in the Community Centre at the station. Mrs. Monnie Smith, Area Ranger Advisor of Fergus, wel- comed the recruits into the growing company of Rangers. Assisting Mrs. Smith was Di- vision Commissi oner Miss Mary McMillan, who presented the Ranger pins, and Area Com- missioner Mrs. Beth Walker of Centralia, and Mrs. Zella Gib- son, captain of the Exeter Air Rangers. A guard of honor was formed in the shape of a horseshoe by Centralia Guides and Brownies and Exeter Air Rangers. The Ranger recruits were Mrs. Dolly Landry, Captain, and Misses Heather Lenz, Mar- garet Colbert, Mary Meurling, Sharon Burns, Coleen Mc- Currie, Victoria Z ilk i e and Rosilind Burns. Following the enrolment cer- emony, Mrs. Beth Walker was the proud recipient of a beauti- ful corsage, made up of the traditional Guide colors of blue and yellow. Gifts were also presented from the Guides, Brownies and Rangers of Cen- tralia, as Mrs. Walker and family are leaving June 17 for 3(r) Wing, Zweihruken, Ger- many. Lunch was served to those present, the highlight being a huge cake which was made and decorated by Mrs. Irene Clas- seri, one of the Guides' mother. The cake was suitably decorated in blue and yellow and showing the Guide trefoil and motto. PERSONALS Mr. & MrS.
