There are so many ways to go wrong today that it must surely leave many buyers puzzled. Just look at the questions that need answering before a sound decision can be made! Bob and Iry at Hopper-Hockey would like to share some of their experience with you here — or at the store. Plan your home so that it reflects your personality, your style of life. As Iry says, "I want my home to be comfortable when I get home. You spend a lot of time there and it's one of the few places that you have some say about your surroundings. So why not get something you'll like," For the same reason, it's best to spend more money on the living room than the bedroom, Bob makes the exception of the mattress — one-third of your life is spent in bed. So, he reasons, why should you wake up miserable? Buy a good mattress. Be careful when buying furniture not to buy too much all at once. It's best to buy a bit at a time and get used to it before you buy more. For this and other reasons, Bob and Iry advise against buying house package deals — a whole houseful of furniture put together by a furniture dealer and discounted for quick sales. With most package deals you usually end up with buying the price — and not the product. Someone else has chosen your furniture, with making money his primary consideration. Still want a good price? Then choose your own room groupings piece by piece to suit yourself. Prices are normally lower at Hopper-Hockey than any city prices (because of a much lower overhead), But if you make your own group purchase there's every reason you should get an even better deal. That should leave you free to plan your home and quit worrying over pennies. Now, if you're a bride-to-be without a place to put it yet, then Bob and Iry will store it without charge, Money problems? Hopper-Hockey have terms to suit. And now to color. This is the great news of this year. Furniture has blossomed out in dazzling splendour you've never seen before. The browns are still here, But how dull to just ask to see the browns! The blues and greens and golds are beautiful and rich, a real pride to own. They're muted just enough so they won't take charge of a room, but how they do give sparkle to a home! They'll add gleam to the eye of the householder for years to come. Styles are also more interesting this year. Modern furniture looks less garrish than it used to be. The furniture companies are putting gracious living and comfort back into their products. And they're putting even more reliabil- ity into the construction too. This brings up another point. Know your dealer. And if possible know the manufacturer. Bob and Iry know they must please you if they hope to have repeat business, so they have chosen manufacturers that won't let them down. They're now exclusive dealers for Signature Chairs. And they're ex- clusive for Imperial from Stratford, as well as carrying Kroehler, Vilas, Bar- onet and Krug Bros. All their furniture is made in Canada. Make sure you buy from a responsible dealer such as Hopper-Hockey who will give service long after the sale. Come in and ask questions. Be sure you know What you are buying. Find out why one chesterfield costs more than another. Trust Hopper-Hockey to give you confidence and price.
