Elimville Club I 4-H Home-
making Club held its first meet-
ing of the Garden project at the
home of leader Mrs. John Hera.
Officers elected were: pre-
sident, Kathy Hera; secretary,
Sharon Fletcher; press report-
er, Janet Herm
The club is to be called "will-
ing Weeders". Next meeting
will be held at the home of
Mrs. Philip Hern, May 3 at
7:30 pm.
Mrs. Arthur Werner of Kitch-
ener (the former Dianne Rennie
of Hensel* was honored at a
miscellaneous shower held for
her in the Assembly Room of
Hensall United Church Tuesday
evening, April 20.
The guest of honor was pre-
sented with many beautiful gifts.
Mrs. Grant MacGregor directed
a recreational period. Lunch
was served.
Guests were present from
Kitchener, London, Preston,
Dashwood, Zurich, Hensall and
Exeter.

Dashwood youth wins science prize
Larry Weido, Dashwood, a grade 13 student at SHDHS won top spot in the boy's biology section of
the Midwestern Ontario Science Fair held in Wingham last week. The youth has over 600 insects
in his collection which has taken him five years to gather. He plans to take an honours biology
course at UWO upon graduation from high school, Students from 12 secondary schools from
Owen Sound to Stratford competed. --Wingham Advance Times

Stade of Zurich sang two solos
accompanied on the piano by
her mother. The devotion was
taken by Mrs. Robt. Cook and
Mrs. Jack Drysdale. Mrs. Ron
Mock, leader of unit 3, presided
for the fine program. Mrs.
Drysdale gave courtesy re-
marks.
Mrs. Currie presided for the
business. Two invitations to the
Lutheran Church, Zurich, and
Chiselhurst United in May were
accepted and arranged for. Unit
4 will be in charge of the June
meeting when the guest speaker
will be amissionaryfrom Trin-
idad. Unit 3 announced an order
bake sale Saturday, May 8,
orders to be in by May 6.
The report by Mrs. Stanley
Mitchell for the Supply and
Welfare disclosed the need is
great for overseas relief. The
spring bale will be packed first
week in June.
Units will be meeting very
shortly to plan the annual smor-
gasbord for June 2. Mrs. Currie
expressed deep appreciation for
the two coffee urns which had
been donated for the new kit-
chen. Reservations are to be
made for two members to at-
tend the School for Leaders at
Alma College August 23 to 26.

Seventy-seven sat down to a
father and son banquet at the
Men's Club supper Monday eve-
ning. President, Hugh Boyle
welcomed everyone.
Guest speaker, Magistrate
Glenn Hayes of Goderich, was
introduced by James Hayter.
He spoke on the history of
Huron County, Howard Klumpp
showed pictures of the 1964
hockey and local baseball films.
CONFIRMANDS PARTY
Members of the Walther Lea-
gue of Zion Lutheran Church
welcomed the newly confirmed
young people Tuesday, April 20,
with a supper for all leaguers
and their parents. Over 50 at-
tended.
Following the supper, the
president, Jack Schenk, ex-
plained the purpose and ideals
of the League. Group games
were conducted by Jack Schenk
and Edward Restemayer. Clos-
ing devotions were held in the
church auditorium.

ler attended the science fair at
Wingham high school last Fri-
day and with his biology entry,
"Insects are Essential to Man-
kind" won the award and a cash
prize. They also toured CKNX
TV station.
