New
This week there's something added to your T-A. It's
the Lucan Shamrock, a new newspaper to be issued
from time to time for the Lucan Businessmen's As-
sociation. It allows us, for the first time to expand
our coverage of North Middlesex affairs. And it gives
Lucan something special in news coverage for the
first time since the Lucan Sun folded around 1924.
The Shamrock will be inserted into The T-A each
time it appears. If you wish to receive it every time
it's issued, just give Lina Abbott a call or call The
T-A at 235-1331. Lucan coverage will continue to ap-
pear in The T-A every week as usual, unchanged. But
half a dozen times a year (perhaps more) the Sham-
rock will expand the coverage bringing news and
views to the good people of North Middlesex. And
remember to shop in Lucan. Support your merchants.

Miss Lina Abbott
Lucan has enjoyed the benefits of thorough news
coverage of its affairs in The T-A since 1951,
chiefly because of the drive of our correspondent,
Miss Lina Abbott. Miss Abbott is a retired school
teacher, born and brought up at Lucan, but for
many years a teacher in Toronto. Last June she
was presented with a certificate by the Women
Teacher's Federation marking her 40 years teach-
ing. Miss Abbott has long been noted as a booster
of her community, and for her faithful coverage
of all the affairs of Lucan. She sends consistently
the heaviest budget of news The T-A receives
from its correspondents. With the development
of the Lucan Shamrock we hope she will have
even greater scope to spread the word about
vigorous goings-on in Lucan.
