CLANDEBOYE
John Northgrave, 73, died
suddenly in Tillsonburg Hos-
pital, Saturday, April 3 from a
heart condition.
He was born in McGillivray
Township, the son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Hannah (Burgess)
Northgrave. He had spent his
life near Clandeboye, attended
SS 4 and Lucan High School
and Normal School, London.
He taught at Southgate andNeu-
stad and in 1918 joined thefield
artillery and went overseas.
On his return he taught at
Courtland and spent 34 1/2
years at the same school. He
retired 10 years ago.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Ruby Robinson of
Courtland; three daughters,
Mrs. Albert (Ruth) Curtis, Til-
lsonbinT; Mrs. Russell (Bessie)
Fisher, Courtland and Mrs.
Marion Simmons, Tillsonburg;
one son, Wilton, Tillsonburg;
two sisters, Miss Marion
Northgrave and Miss A ggie
Northgrave of Clandeboye, a
twin brother, William, also of
Clandeboye and 10 grandchild-
ren.
Funeral services were held
Monday, April 5 at the George
Barrie funeral home, Tillson-
burg with Rev. J. A. Tearson
and Rev. J. Twinen officiating.
Burial took place in Courtland
cemetery.

at the home of Mrs. Wilmer
Scott Miss Lois Smith, home
economist for McGillivray, was
present and discussed the
Achievement Day program.
At the sixth meeting at the
home of Mrs. Kurt Gebel a
singsong was led by Judy Scott.
The leader s demonstrated
sewing lace on material by hand.
