FRED BOWDEN CENTRALLA Mrs. Kenneth Greb, Mrs.E1- mer Powe, Mrs. W. R. Essery and Mrs. Kenneth Hudgins were the contestants and made a fine appearance on the television program "Take your Choice" Saturday night. The ladies suc- ceeded in winning $106 for the UCW, A bus load of fifty went down to London for the perfor- mance. COMMUNITY NIGHT Community night was held Thursday evening in Farquhar Hall with four tables of euchre in play. Prizes were won for ladies high by Mrs. Mac llodgert; la- dies low, Mrs. Ross ffodgert, lone hands, Lee Webber; men's high, Mac Hodgert; men's low, Wilfred Dunkin.. Lunch was served by the committe in charge, Mr. and Mrs. William Snow end Mr. arid Mrs. Jack Stewart. Thames Road events Shivaree, euchre mark couples' anniversaries A Christian education and Missionary topic entitled ,'Two Kinds of Crosses" was given by Mrs. Arthur McFalls. Mrs. R. Wilson, Mrs. V, Drought and Mrs. O. Langford favoured with a vocal number. A film was shown. Mrs. Grab conducted the business and gave a report on the Huron Presby- terial in Seaforth. The social activities were outlined. The program committee were the hostesses. Cottle. On behalf of those gath- ered Mr, and Mrs. Ray Cottle were presented with a corning ware casserole on a stand. There was no church service Sunday owing to the illness of Rev. Hugh Wilson. Mr. Wilson will be in charge of the com- munion service and the confir- mation class Sunday morning, April 11. HONOR NEIGHBORS Around seventy friends, neighbors and relativeegathere ed in Farquhar Hail to honor Mr. and Mrs. William Lamport on their thirtieth wedding an- niversary. Sixteen tables of euchre were in play. Prizes were won for ladles high by Mrs. William Lamport; ladies low, Mrs. Mel Glanville; lone hands, Bev Alex- ander, men's high, Lloyd Knight; men's low, Mel Glan- ville. Mr, Robert Mayer read an address and Mrs. Robert May- er and Mrs. Lee Webber pre- sented Mr. and Mrs, Lamport with a pole lamp and ottoman and Glen Lamport on behalf of the family gave his parents a clothes hamper. Mr. and Mrs. Lamport thanked all those pre- sent. Lunch was served. EASTER MEETING The Easter meeting of the UCW was held in the school- room of the church Thursday evening. Mrs. Ralph Lightfoot presided and opened the pro- gram with an Easter poem. Me- ditations on the Scripture were given by Mrs. Lorne Hicks. By MRS. Mrs. Russell Schroeder was in London over the weekend where she visited with Mr. Schroeder in St. Joseph's Hos- pital, her son-in-law, Lloyd Hewitt in Victoria Hospital and was a guest at the home of her daughter and son-In-law, Mr. & Mrs. B.
