Whalen mourns
loss of resident

WHALEN
Mr. Horst Klahre, who had
lived in the community for the
past nineteen years, passed
away Thursday following sever-
al months' illness.

The 15 pupils of the Base Line
School and teacher, Mrs. Mon-
rison, are to be congratulated
for the successful bake sale
they held Monday at 3 pm.
Daintily covered card tables
lined one wall which were filled
with home baking and produce.
This was a new effort for the
pupils and Mrs. Morrison. The
proceeds of $20 is to be sent
to the Bunny Bundle.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Mildred (Zavitz)
Klahre; daughters, Catherine
and Martha, both at home, step-
brother, Dr. Gunter Klahre,
Basil, Switzerland, He was pre-
deceased by his parents, Cle-
mens and Emilie Klahre of
Dresden, Germany.
The funeral service was con-
ducted by Padre Pollock of
Westminster Hospital Saturday
from the Needham Memorial
Chapel, London. Interment in
Mount Pleasant cemetery,
Mower, 3-point hitch; 140 ft,
