proved. Two letters were pass-
ed among the members which
had been received from the In-
stitute's adopted child thanking
the Institute members for their
remembrances at Christmas.
Ten dollars was voted to be
sent to the International Schol-
arship fund.

Mrs. M. H. Elston held a
neighborhood coffee party on
Monday afternoon at her home.

Mrs. Calvin Christie was
guest speaker at the Staffa WI
meeting held at the home of
Mrs. Carter Kerslake last Wed-
nesday afternoon. She gave a
talk and showed pictures on the
trip she and her husband had
enjoyed to Scotland and parts
of England last fall. She was
introduced by Mrs. Kerslake.
This was the International
meeting and Mrs. John Temple-
man presented a paper on Ire-
land. Mrs. Walter O'Brien gave
an interesting comment on the
motto "While making new
friends, don't forget the old"
William Koehler
dies at Clinton
William Koehler, 80, RR 3
Zurich, died at Clinton Public
Hospital, Saturday, February
27.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Clara Elizabeth
Gross; two daughters, Mrs.
Vernon (Elda) Becker, Exeter;
Mrs. Hubert (Norma) Vincent,
Crediton.
Funeral service was held at
the Westlake funeral home,
Zurich, Tuesday, March 2 with
burial in Evangelical United
Brethren Cemetery.

A cluttered goal-mouth scramble
The highlight of the Minor Hockey Family Night at the arena, Saturday, was the contest featuring
the Mites, the youngest of the young puck hopefuls who play in the local setup. There were only
two goals scored in the game and the reason for the low scoring can probably be blamed on the
number of sticks and feet the players had to shoot through before getting the puck'anywhere near

bert's Little Lassies, Staffa
West, for the project "Cottons
May Be Smart" was held at the
home of Carol Ann Dow.
It was decided to use apastel
color for the record book
covers. Subject matter was on
pattern alterations and pre-
paration of material.
The next meeting will be held
March 6 at 1:30 pm at the home
of Marg Worden.
Mr. & Mrs. A. E. Wuerth
returned Sunday after a three-
week trip to the western pro-
vinces.
They visited with Mr. & Mrs.
Fred Smith, the former Tilley
Edwards of Crediton, In Edmon-
ton and with Mr. Wuerth's sis-
ter, Mrs. Tena Glanville and
her son and family, Clarence
Glanville in New Westminster.
They toured the city of Vic-
toria and Vancouver Island and
on their return trip visited with
Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Fahner in
Sudbury and with their son-in-
law and daughter, Mr. & Mrs.
Richard Long and family, Royal
Oak, Michigan.
