Conservatory of Music exams.
UCW MAKE QUILTS
Kippen UCW of St. Andrew's
church combined their Febru-
ary meeting in the Sunday school
rooms last week with a pot luck
dinner at noon, along with the
quilting of two quilts. Seventeen
ladies were present.
Mrs. B, Faber presided at
the meeting and Mrs. Tom Reid,
in the absence of Mrs. J. Sin-
clair, secretary, read the min-
utes of the previous meeting and
took the roll call. Mrs. Bob
McGregor and Mrs. Duncan
Cooper were the ladies who pre-
pared the dinner at noon.

Mrs. Lorne Weiberg was hos-
tess Tuesday afternoon for a
quilting and Guild meeting.
Plans were completed for the
euchre and dance held in the
Lucan Arena Friday evening.
Mrs. Charles Atkinson and
Mrs. Ron Carroll assisted the
hostess in serving refresh-
ments.
The committee in charge of
the dance and euchre reports
a very successful evening.

After the euchre Mr. Wm.
Elston was called forward and
presented with two gifts for his
home in Kirkton where he now
lives. He thanked all for re-
membering him after which all
sat down to lunch.

newlyweds, journeyed to Hen-
sall Sunday to honor them on
their recent wedding. They were

The No. 1 squirt team de-
feated the No. 2 team 3-1 for
the No. 1 team Billy VanBergen
scored two and Jon Geiser one.
For the No. 2 team, Barry
Miller scored the only goal.
In a very close squirt game,
the Blue Wings came out on
top with a score of 4-3. Perry
Stover had the hat trick and
Robert Ryckman one goal for
the Blue Wings. Randy Gilfillan
had three for the Red Wings.
In the first pee wee game of
the morning the Leafs defeated
the Hawks with a score of 6-3.
With this win the Leafs climb
within two points of the league
leading Hawks. Goal scorers
for the Leafs were Dale Par-
kins, Bob Parsons, John Fah-
ner, Murray Hodge, Joe O'-
Rourke, Don Schenk.
For the Hawks, Captain Larry
Haugh scored all three goals.

at 6:45 will be Family Hockey
Night. The houseleague games
normally played in the morning
will be played at night so that
you and other parents will be
able to watch. 6:45-7:30 will
be the No. 1 and No. 2 teams
and the Mites that play at the
far end of the arena. 7:30-8:15
the Red Wings and Blue Wings
(Squirt), 8:15-9:00 Wings vs
Leafs (Pee Wee), 9-9:45 Cana-
diens vs Hawks (Pee Wee).
Please bring your boy to the
arena this time, don't just send

There will be no minor hockey
this Saturday morning.

In mite hockey four goals
were scored with Marty Becker
scoring two goals and Brian
Penhale and Steven Willert one
each.
The second game ended in
a tie between the Canadiens
and the Wings with a score of
one all. Ron Grasdahl scored
for the Canadiens and Bob Eng-
land for the Wings.
This Saturday night is the
final game of the schedule for
the pee wee houseleague and
next Saturday will be the first
games in a playoff series for
the group title and the Pete
Crocker trophy.
Last Tuesday the b ant am
houseleague players played a
team from Centralia and were
defeated 5-1. This week the
Centralia team will come to
Exeter in a return game and the
boys are quite sure they can
come up with a win in this one.

The Golden Hawks girls con-
tinue on their winning ways
as they defeated the Leafs 3-2.
For the Hawks Sheila Willert
scored two and Judy Glover
one.
Kathy Bentley and Lynn Far-
quhar each scored a goal for
the Leafs.

In Rec League hockey—
Thursday, the first game was a
well played game between Gra-
ham & Graham and Bank Boys
with a final score of 10-8 for
the Bankers.
The Bankers had to go all
out to win this one as the con-
struction boys played one of
their better games but still
don't seem to be able to come
up with a win. For the Bankers
Peter McF all s had the hat trick,
Bill Heywood, Frank Boyle and
Jim Russell two goals each with
a single by Doug Parker.
Scoring for Graham & Gra-
ham were John Tripp two, Tom
Watt two, Walt Tiedeman, Jim
MacDonald, Don Graham and
Jim Newby the tireman one each.
The game between the Old
Timers and Crediton was won
by the old men 8-1. Ron Horne
had three goals for the Old
Timers, Murray Bell two with
singles by Ron Boggart, Bill
Gilfillan and Dick Bennett.
The lone Crediton goal was
scored by Eric Finkbeiner.
This week Crediton vs Gra-
ham & Graham game will be
played Friday at 8:30.01d Tim-
ers vs Bank Boys game will be
played on Sunday at 6 pm.

The first meeting of the 4-H
Club was held at the home of
Mrs. Reg Morrison Wednes-
day Feb. 17 at 7:30 pm.
The nomination of officers
took place. A discussion was
held on the type of dresses to
make, the different materials
and the name of the club. Kirk-
ton Katton Keeties was the name
decided on.
MEET AT RUSSELDALE
The Ladies Guild and WA
met Thursday evening at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Gor-
don Mains, Russeldale. The
presidents presided for their
respective meetings. Mrs.
Garth Wackier gave a chapter
of the study book.
Lunch was served by Mrs.
