Boys slow
on invites CARDS OF THANKS The South Huron senior girls
continued their fine play in the
Huron-Perth Conference on
Friday by defeating St. Marys
for their fifth straight victory.
The senior girls posted an
easy 33-20 win but the other
South Huron teams are still
finding it hard to get untracked
as the junior girls as well as
the junior and senior boys lost
their games to the St. Marys
school.
The junior girls dropped a
35-24 decision while the junior
boys lost 65-51 and the senior
boys were defeated 49-35 on
their home court.
Miss Seigner's senior squad
had little trouble with the St.

The RCAF Centralia Bantams
skated to a 5-1 win over a
bantam team from the Exeter
Houseleague on Tuesday night.
The Centralia club spotted
the visitors a 1-0 lead on Ron
Moore's goal at the 27 second
mark of the second period, but
Cousins pumped home the first
of his three goals only eight
minutes later to start the home
team on their way.
Besides Cousin's three goals,
Green and Knoblach scored
singletons.
CLIP LUCAN
Although they were outshot
9-'7, the CentraliaSquirts scor-
ed a 2-1 win over ,Lucan on
Monday night.
The two clubs played 40 min-
utes without a score and then
all three goals were scored in
two and a half minutes with
Greenfield scoring for Cen-
tralia and Stuckles replying for
Lucan before Cullen notched
the winning marker with the
aid of Knight and Courtney.

the third quarter and 16 more
in the fourth to record a 49-35
win. The loss brought the senior
boys' record to two wins and
three defeats in their five de-
cisions.
Lanky Ron Matz paced the.
Panthers attack with ten points
with Gary Ford and Larry Idle
hooping six apiece. Robert
Wolfe added five points while
Glen Shipman and Bill Farqu-

Despite Jim Creech's stellar
17-point performance, Doug
Rickert's junior boys' club
dropped a 65-51 decision to the
St. Marys juniors.
The local lads were never
close in this one as the host
club led 27-20 at the half and
hit for 23 big points in the third

Our annual school formal is
fast approaching as it is Feb-
ruary 26. The decorating com-
mittee is keeping busy as well
as members of the Student
Council and for them, there will
be no rest until the night of the
formal.
There is a great dealof plan-
ning and work involved in having
such a dance and those who have
never been a part of this plan-
ning and work are not always
aware of this.
Even though the formal is so
near it is surprising that there
are still so many boys who are
undecided as whether to go or
not. So girls, don't be surprised
if your phone rings this-week-
end,
In previous years, the can-
didates for queen have usually
Marys gals as they led 12-2
at the end of the first quarter
and increased their lead to 21-6
at the half.
Linda, Hunter-Duvar with 10
points paced the South Huron
attack while Lynn Lesnick was
close behind with a nine-point
performance. Iris Marshall and
Ann Mickle with six points each
and Marg Snelgrove with two,
closed out the scoring for the
winners.
The junior girls had their
two-game winning streak come
to an abrupt end onFriday when
they were beaten 35-24 In St.
Marys. The defeat brought their
record to two wins and three
losses for the season.
The South Huron squad trailed
St. Marys by only two points
at the end of the first quarter
but were unable to stay with
the homesters for the rest of
the game.

In God's eternal light.

pleted in the men's second draw
and the first round of this year's
third and final draw was runoff
last week.
Ben Tuckey is planning to
leave for Florida this weekend
and from all reports there are
a lot of area curlers Who are
not sorry to see him go and are
after him to take the rest of
his potent foursome with him.
"Tuckey's Tigers", a rink
consisting of Norm Walper, Art
Clarke and Dick Jermyn have
been rather hot of late and have
been winning a bit of loot. Tuck-
ey's foursome recently finished
in the money at Goderich and
Thedford bonspiels.
