One of the big reasons for
the success of the Exeter Pee
Wees so far this season has
been the play of the team's
high scoring forward unit of
Larry Haugh at center between
Chris Riddell and John Guen-
ther.
These three players are pre-
sently 1-2-3 in the team scor-
ing with Haugh leading all scor-
ers with 46 goals and 42 assists
for atotalof 88 points while
Riddell is the second highest
point producer with 61 point s
on 39 goals and 22 assists.
Guenther, who patrols the left
wing on the high scoring line,
has 43 points on 18 goals and
25 assists.
Althoggh the team scores a lot
of goals they cannot be accused
of going up the ice and leaving
their goaltenders unprotected.
The team, which is coached
by Lorne Haugh, has shutout
their opponents no less than
11 times this year with John
Hayter recording six white-
wash jobs while the other Exe-
ter goalkeeper, Mike McLaugh-
lin, has picked up five.
Hayter has allowed 24 goals
in the 15 games he has played
while McLaughlin has given up
32 goals in the 16 games in which
he has worked.

15 Wanted The Exeter bantams will ad-
vance to the second round of the
WOAA playoffs against either
Clinton or Mitchell after they
ousted Seaforth from further
competition on Monday night in
Seaforth.
The locals defeated Seaforth
8-3 on home ice on Friday and
then came back on Monday to
eliminate Seatorth with a 9-3
victory to take the best of three
series two games to none.
Coach Red Loader's charges
had little trouble with the visi-
tors on Friday night as they
held a 5-3 lead at the end of the
second stanza and then scored
three more goals in the third
frame to put the game on the ice.
Jim Hayter and Graham Hern
scored two goals apiece to lead
the homesters while Ron Janke,
John Loader, Mike Hoy and Bill
Fairbairn added singles.
The big star in the Monday
game was Bill Fairbairn who
has played the last few games
with his right wrist in a cast.
Fairbairn showed that the cast
wasn't hampering his play by
scoring three goals.
Jim Hayter and Mike Hoy
each scored two goals for the
winners while John Loader and
Graham Hern scored a goal
apiece in the one-sided game.

The win gave the first place
Combines a three point lead
over the second place Forest
squad in the three-team Inter-
mediate B League and set their
record at seven wins, six loss-
es and one tie.
The Combines had little
trouble subduing the Lakesides
as they led 3-0 at the end of
the first stanza, increased their
lead to '7-1 in the second period
and then coasted to their one-
sided victory over the short-
handed Forest club who dressed
only nine men including goal-
tender Ron Urry.
Keith Scarborough played a
fine game in the winners' net
but was deprived of his shutout
when Reg Mulholland scored the
only Forest goal early in the
middle frame.
The Lakesides picked up nine
of the 16 penalties that were
called in the °hippy contest
with the Combines' Doug Gallo-

their third period fight.
Besides Campbell and Hearn,
who looked after six of the eight
Irish goals, Stu O'Neil and Don
Fletcher picked up a goal
apiece.
