She knows what it's all about
Mrs. Irene Croot, second from the left, is March of Dimes campaign secretary for the Southwestern
Ontario region and knows full well the need for rehabilitating disabled people. Mrs. Croot, who
wears leg braces and requires crutches, was one of the first patients treated in the rehabilitation
centre when it was opened in 1951. Her treatment enables her to lead a useful life. She reported
there would be 5,000 Marching Mothers out in her area on Monday and they hoped to receive
$72,000 in donations from the 75,000 homes to be covered. She's shown here pinning one of the
badges to ide'ntify Marching Mothers on the lapel of Mrs. Doug Triebner. At the left is president
of the Exeter Legion Auxiliary, Mrs. Dan IVIcLeod, while Mrs. Harvey Pfaff, right, is chairman for
the local campaign to be carried out by the Auxiliary. —T-A photo
