Rev. Edgar Roulston of Exe-
Robert M. Peck
prominent farmer
Robert M. Peck, 72, a pro-
minent resident of the village,
died in South Huron Hospital,
Thursday, December 24, having
been admitted earlier lathe day
to the hospital.
Mr. Peck was born in Stanley
Township where he farmed and
was a prominent Shorthorn cat-
tle breeder. He retired to Hen-
sail in 1945.
He was a member of Hensall
United Church.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Grace Elde r; three
sons, Robert and Harold, RR 1
Zurich, John, RR 3 Kippen; two
daughters, Mrs. Frank (Dor-
othy) Elliott, Blyth and Mrs.
Robert (Marion) Jackman, De-
troit, and 18 grandchildren. One
brother, Dr. J. W. Peck, pre-
deceased him in 1925.
Funeral services were con-
ducted by Rev. H. F. Currie
on Monday, December 28 at the
Bonthron funeral chapel with
interment in Hayfield cemetery.
Pallbearers were Messrs El-
gin McKinley, Clifford Keys,
Ron Peck, Douglas Cook, Rus-
sell Erratt and Harvey Keys.
Flower bearers were grandsons
of the deceased.

At the meeting of Murphy
LOL No. 710 a draw was made
for a $50 bill for first prize
and a $10 bill for second prize.
Mrs. Charlie Cunningham of
Clinton was the lucky winner of
the first prize, and Clarence
Volland, Hensall, winner of the
second prize. Proceeds were
for the building fund.
Allan Reid of }Jensen was the
winner of the money doll valued
at $25, drawing his own ticket.
The project was sponsored by
Legion Ladies Auxiliary;
Jill Drysdale won the Christ-
mas cake and Mrs. R. J. Drys-
dale the five-pound box of
chocolates. Draws were made
Christmas eve at the Regal
Grill restaurant, the latter two
draws sponsored by the res-
taurant.
At Irwin's ladies Ready-to-
wear the bedspread was won by
Peggy Vanstone, and the sweat-
er by Mrs. Clarence Volland.
