ies and ice cream served by
the hostess, her co-hostess,
Mrs. Robt. Bell, and committee.
The Christmas meeting of
Kippen East WI was held Wed-
nesday, December 16, at the
home of Mrs. Ernest White-
house, President Mrs. Verne
Alderdice opened the meeting
by reading, 6,Christmas is a

Business discussed included
plans for a euchre to be held in
Hensall January 22 also two
quilts to be completed before
the next meeting. One quilting
will be at Mrs. Cecil Pullman's
and one at the home of the
president. Christmas carols
and Silver Bell were sung and
Mrs. James Drummond gaVe a
paper on "Holly".
Entertainment by the children
was provided in recitations by
Allan Bell and Don Sararas,
a duet by Marilyn and Bonnie evening.
Mr. Bud McLeod (formerly
of Kippen) is hospitalized in
Westminster Hospital, London.

Anderson wins
Christmas shoot
John Anderson won the annual
Christmas turkey shoot at Kip-
pen over the weekend, scoring
46 of 50 shots in the handicap
event.
Bill Stewart, Goderich, who
won the two miss and out event,
finished second to Anderson,
making 45 of 50 shots. He won
four turkeys.
The shoot was sponsored by
Kippen Gun Club.

The annual Christmas festi-
val for the Brucefield-Kippen
pastoral charge was held Sunday
evening at the church at 8 pm
with Rev. Howard Plant as nar-
rator and choir leader and Miss
Jean Ivison as organist.
The members of Brucefield
and Kippen choirs presented
the Christmas story in song and
the young people from the
charge dramatically portrayed
the nativity tableau. The solo-
ists were Mrs. Keith Lovell,
Miss Joan Sinclair, Mrs. Fred
McGregor and Mr. Henry Bin-
nendyk. Petdmeted

are spending their Christmas
vacation with their parents, Mr.
& Mrs. Laird Mickle and Ann.
Robert spent the weekend in
Chatham and Sarnia.
Mrs. Lou Simpson is spending
the Christmas vacation with
members of her family in Royal
Oak and Birmingham, Mich.
Sixteen Christmas boxes for
shut-ins and older members of
Carmel Presbyterian Church
were packed at the home of Mrs.
Earl Campbell Thursday after-
noon by WMS members and
delivered to members in the
Q ue e ns w ay Nursing Home,
Huronview and South Huron
Hospital.
John Tudor, who is attending
University of British Columbia
in Vancouver, is spending the
Christmas holidays with his
parents, Mr. & Mrs. Maurice
Tudor.
The Nativity scene outside the
United Church was erected by
the Young People.

The annual Christmas con-
cert was held at the church
Wednesday evening Dec.16 with
a good attendance.
The program included an
opening song by the Sunday
School; an Advent candlelighting
ceremony by Grant Jones, Gwen
Hendrick, Gary Anderson and
Joan Sinclair; nursery and kin-
dergarten, two songs; recita-
tions by Shirley Chalmers, Deb-
bie Consit t, Brenda Turner,
Leslie Coleman and Tommy
Workman; skit by Doug McKay
and Ken Chalmers; solos, Deb-
bie Anderson, H. Binnendyk;
guitar duet, Grant and Kenneth
Jones; chorus by the juniors; a
story; piano solo, Kenneth Jones
and a trio, Darlene, Dianne and
Doug McKay.
Treats and gifts were dis-
tributed to the children and
lunch followed.
