Top 4-H citizen
Ken Gemmell, RR 2 Kippen, was awarded the Elston Cardiff
Citizenship Trophy at the annual Huron County 4-H Achievement
Night held in Wingham, Friday. The award is made on the basis
of outstanding 4-H work and also for home and community ac-
tivities. The 20-year-old youth has an excellent record in 4-H
work for the past eight years and has been very active in
community and Junior Farmer work as Well. Many other dis-
trict youths were presented with special awards at the event.

Frank Hamilton read an article
and a poem was given by Mrs.
Wm. Taylor, who also conduct-
ed a contest.

Wins award
Jerry Drysdale, son of Mr.
and Mrs. R. J. Drysdale, Hen-
sall, has been awarded the Vis-
count Richard Bedford Bennett
Scholarship of $200 for work in
forestry at the University of
New Brunswick, Fredericton,
during the past yeas. Jerry is
a graduate of South Huron Dis-
