A presentatien was made to Mr. and Mrs. Eric Clayburn of St. Marys. They were given a stepatool, a set of TV tables and :a cup and saucer. Thanks were expressed and an en- joyable evening spent. He is at present a pa- tient in St. MaryS Memorial Hospital, • ENJOY SCHOOL PARTY The Base Line held its first school party Dec. 5 when it took the form of a euchre and pre- sentation for Mr, and Mrs, Eric Clayburn. The hostesses were Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Baker and Mr. and Mrs. Bill. Spence. Twelve games of euchre were played. The winners were; La- dies high, Miss Noreen Walkom; lone hands, Mrs. W. Wilson; gents high, Harold O'Brien; lone hands, Robert Marriott; low accepted the mite boxes as the children brought them forward. Mrs. Hugh Wilson led in prayer. There were nine new members enrolled on the nursery roll and twelve members who graduated from the nursery roll to the Messengers. Arnold Cann, Mr, and Mrs, Lorne Faeamore and Mr, and Mrs. Floyd Stewart in charge. Mrs. Floyd Stewart presided for the Christmas program. Mr. Stewart read the Christmas story and Mr. Cann read "Let's Give Santa Claus Back To The Children". A number of Christ- mas carols were sung. Mrs. Almer Paasmore took charge of the business. It was decided to go carol singing to the shut- ins December 21. Rev. Hugh and Mrs. Wilson invited the club back to the manse afterwards. Rev. Hugh Wilson was in charge of the election of officers for 1965. Presidents are Mr. and Mrs. Murray Dawson; vice- presidents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed- win Miller; secretary-treasur- ers, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cann. By MRS. Mr. William and Howard Rinn and Miss Noreen VValkom were guests Saturday evening with Mr. Orville Rinn of Ilderton. Miss Elizabeth Esson of Kit- chener and Waterloo Hospital and Miss Vivian Baker of St. Marys spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. & Mrs. Nel- son Baker. Mr. & Mrs. Oliver Baker and Elton were guests of her father Mr. Herb Beer and Anna of Munro Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. S. Marriott, Ron and Maryanne, St. Marys visit- ed with their parents Mr. & Mrs. A. Dewar. Mr. & Mrs. Oliver Baker at- tended the funeral of the late Mrs. M. Wilson of Rodney this week, Mr. & Mrs. Duncan McNaugh- ton visited with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. David Sheppard of Ailsa Craig on Sunday. By MRS. WELLWOOD GILL GRAND BEND Dr. and Mrs. John Sass will arrive at London Airport Dec. 11 after three and a half years at the Australian National Uni- versity. Both are graduates of the University of Western Ontario where Dr. John Sass received his MSC in geophysics and Dr. Maureen Sass, her MD from the School of Medicine. They will be welcomed by his parents, Mayor and Mrs. Metro J. Sass of Chatham and by Dr. Maureen Sass' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marty Burke of Grand Bend. Dr. and Mrs. Sass will take up residence in London where he will be undertaking research in his field under the National Research Council. PERSONALS Mrs. Wm. Dace returned home from South Huron Hos- pital last Friday. Her daughter Margaret (Mrs. Frank Hunter) of Vancouver spent a few days last week with her parents. Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Dace left Sunday by plane for Florida where they will spend the winter. Mrs. Mary Ferguson of Sas- katoon left for home Sunday morning after spending two weeks with her mother, Mrs. Myrtle McGregor and other re- latives and friends. Mr. & Mrs. Jack Mann and family of Toronto visited last week with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Elgin Webb. Mrs. Johnston Patterson and family, Mrs. Ray Patterson and Winston spent Saturday in Sar- nia and visited with Mr. & Mrs. Roy Scott and Mrs. Sarah Pat- terson. Mrs. Elgin Webb is spending a few days this week with her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Whyte, Mr. Whyte and family at Sarnia, Mrs. J. C. Robinson is a patient in South Huron Hos- pital, Exeter. Mrs. William Rohde as- sisted with the worship service. Mrs. Hugh Wilson gave a christian Stewardship reading, Several Christmas carols were sung. Mrs. Ken Duncan was in charge of the program including readings by Mrs. Almer Pass- more and Mrs. Bev Morgan. Mrs. Bruce Cann of E xete r rendered two solos accompa- nied by Mrs. Reg Hodgert. Mrs. Archie Etherington re- ported the cook books were ready for sale. Lunch was served by the host- esses Mrs. Bev Morgan and Mrs. William Lamport and their assistants. By MRS. Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Littleton and baby daughter of London visited over the weekend with the latter's sister and brother- in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Russell Faber.
