Naturally, we're all hoping that South Huron will be victorious and defeat Listowel. A Remembrance Day Ser- vice, was held at school Tues- day afternoon with the speaker being Rev. Philip Gandon of Trivitt Memorial Church. The Student Council Executive also took part in the service, Monday, the class periods were shortened from 40 to 37 minutes. This reduction left time for an activity period at the end of the day and school is now over five minutes later at 4:05 pm. All students except the grade 13 class participate in these activities while the grade 13's just have an ad- ditional class each day. In the activity period there is glee club, badminton club on Wednesdays, majorettes, cheerleading practice, orches- tra, sports, Bible club and chess club. The societies such as the Student Council, Athletic So- ciety, and Paper Staff hold their meetings in this period. The library and guidance office are open on specified days to the students. Friday, the grade students have devotion in this period. For those students who don't have anything special to do in these periods, it provides an excellent opportunity for doing homework. This leaves more time at night for studying for the exams which commence No- vember 23. The grade 13 exams start November 18. The magazine campaign was again a large success as it went over the top by more than$1000 to reach a grand total of $7,660. Many students will be receiving prizes for selling magazines and these names will be dis- closed at a later date. TAKE TRIP Approximately 48 special commercial and grade 12 book- keeping students travelled to Toronto, Friday to visit the head office of the Bank of Mon- treal and Imperial Oil. In the afternoon they had a choice of visiting the Stock Exchange, museum, or the Bank of Com- merce, or of going shopping. They were accompanied by Mrs. Dixon and Mr. and Mrs. Howey. Today a busload of spectators will accompany the senior foot- ball team to Listowel to see who will be able to play in the 18 For Rent FLOOR SANDERS, electric.
