sion.
But South Huron couldn't get
rolling and Listowel came back
with another determined effort,
but again they were stopped on
a third down gamble.
In the dying minutes, Burton
conceded a safety touch to give
Listowel their only two points,
but the play gave the locals
possession for some more valu-
able minutes.
When they were forced into a
kicking situation, Listowel had
time for only one play, and they
managed only three yards on
that one.
THREE SCORE
In Friday's action, the locals
had a much easier time with a
Clinton squad who were playing
their first game.
Scott Burton, Uilke Nagel and
Ron Youngash went over for the
three unconverted South Huron
touchdowns.

FUMBLE HURTS.
Taking advantage of a weak
Smith Huron pass defense, Sear
forth struck again midway
through thc- fourth qtiarter when
they recovered a South HurPn
fumble at the home team's 8.0 r
yard line.
On their first play from
Scrimmage Patterson hit
speedy Paul Rau with a swing
Pasa and he out-ran two de-
fenders for a 60-yard TD. They
converted this time by utilizing
the pass fpr their extra point
attempt to open up a 13-6 lead
with about five minutes remain-4
ing in the game.
South Huron received the
kickoff and proceeded to move
the ball from their own 18-
yard line. Two consecutive re-
verse plays by Bud Desjardine
and Eagleson were good for 47
yards and a 15-yard penalty
took them right to the Seaforth
30-yard line.
At this stage it appeared as
though they may come up with
one of their patented last-!
minute wins, but a clipping
penalty and two incomplete
passes left them with third
down and 20 yards to go.
An attempted field goal was
short and Seaforth had the game
virtually wrapped up as they
continued to retain possession
and moved it to their own 45
before having to punt.
Star of the afternoon was
Seaforth's Patterson, whose
superlative passing from the

Dick Coulter's convert at-

But Seaforth pressed hard
for the equalizer with a great
passing game and the hard driv-
ing of fullback Paul Rau, who
picked up most of their yard-
age on the ground.
They started their first scor-
ing march from their own 38

of five, six and ten yards to get
into Panther territory.
Allan Patterson then hit end
Pete Sillery with a 40-yard
pass and run play that moved
them to the South Huron 13.

BANTAMS
Nationals—Rickey Brintnell,
John Loader, Jim Hayter, Randy
Weber, Ron Lindenfield, Denton
The squirts, bantams andpee
wees will all start their re-
spective houseleague schedules
within the next few days with the
pee wees and squirts competing
on Saturday morning and the
bantams taking to the ice on
Tuesday evening.
Arena manager Alvin Willert,
while announcing the various
teams and players, also passed
the word along that any young-
ster who has not yet had the
chance to register for the up-
coming season will be able to do
so at the arena on any Saturday
morning.
At the present time there are
four pee wee clubs and two ban-
tam squads. There will be two
pee wee games on Saturday
morning from eight to ten with
the squirts taking over from 10
to 12.
From 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 the
Maple Leafs will play the Red
Wings while the Black Hawks
tangle with the Canadiens an
hour later. In the bantam house-
league on Tuesday night the
Nationals will play the Barons
from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The three Exeter all-star
teams will also get into regular
play this week as the pee wee,
bantam, and midget squads play
in Strathroy tonight (Thursday)
and open their home schedule
here against Belmont next Wed-
nesday night.
Following are the lineups for
the various houseleague teams:

At the present time there are about 20

The team, which will under the name
Exeter Hawks, will travel to Petrolia November
9 to open their schedule with the first home
game set for Friday, the 13th. We'll hope it's
lucky? Other members of the league along with
Petrolia and Exeter include Port Huron, Point
Edward, Delhi, Strathroy, Belmont and Glencoe,
Red Loader, who is no stranger to hockey
followers in the area, will handle the coaching
duties while Lloyd ushinan will handle mana
gerial matters. Coach Loader will have the dif-
ficult task of cutting out the fringe players in
order to pare the squad down to league require-
ments.
Because of the acquisition of eight of last
year's .Hensall-Zurich players who went all the
way to cop OHA Junior `D' honours, officials are
confident that Exeter will be the team to beat
in the upcoming campaign.
At present there are two goaltenders,
nine forwards and nine defensemen seeking
berths on the team. Members of last year's cham-
pionship Hensall-Zurich squad include forwards
Dennis Morrissey, Earl Wagner, Craig Chapman,
Mike Cushman, Rick Boyle and Bill Chipchase,
along with defenceman Dale Turvey and goalie
Rick Stade..
Also making strong bids for a job are six
members of the fine Exeter midget club of two
years ago that went to the OHA finals before
bowing to a strong Huntsville squad. These
players are Larry Willert, Tom Glavin, Ron Cor-
nish. Ron Broderick, Craig Davidson and Jack
Glover.
Lester Heywood, Fred Lamb, Fred Wells,
Jim Rundle, Don Cann and newcomer Fred
Hughes are also attending workouts.
After a few practices Loader has formed
some lines that, while not permanent, show signs
of being very effective. Mike Cushman, who has
attended a couple of Junior 'B' camps this, fall,
plays centre on a line with Rick. Boyle on right
wing and Fred Hughes on the life side.
Hughes, who moved here from Elora
where he played two years in a tough inter-
mediate league, is a solidly built lad who should
add a little weight to the forward line.
Another attacking unit has Earl Wagner
of Zurich, one of the leading scorers in the Sham-
rock League last year, centering right winger
Craig Chapman and left winger Dennis Morris-
sey. Bill Chipchase of Hensall is the pivot on the
third line with Allan Thompson and Fred Lamb
on the wings.
The defence, while not on the large side,
will be adequate and will undoubtably make up
for their lack of weight with their speed and
mobility. Dale Turvey and Craig Davidson team
up at the blue line while Ron Broderick and
Larry Willert form the other defensive pair with
Ron Cornish and Lester Heywood in reserve.
Rick Stade and Tom Glavin will probably share
the puck stopping duties.
In the past, junior hockey has been very
successful, but because there was no junior club
in town last year, team officials feel that a win-
ning team that plays a fast and exciting brand
of hockey will be needed to revive interest.
And the Exeter Minor Hockey Associa-
tion and the management of the junior entry are
cordident the team will provide a lot of thrills
and excitement at the local arena this winter
and they invite you to attend the games.

After two straight defeats,
the South Huron Junior Panth-
ers evened their season record
with a pair of victories on con-
secutive afternoons on their
homefield.
On Thursday, they gained re-
venge for an earlier 13-0 loss
at the hands of Listowel when
they came up with a hard-fought
6-2 win, and then they turned
right around Friday to whip
Clinton by an 18-0 count.
In the Listowel game, both
squads made good gains in the
first half, but neither could
muster a sustained drive and
most of the play was between the
two 25-yard lines.
Ron Youngash and Uilke Nagel
carried most of the South Huron
attack, while Listowel hurt their
own cause by having two snaps
dropped on third down situa-
tions.
South Huron came close on
their first series in the second
half when Scott Burton heaved a
long pass to an uncovered Mark
Hinton, but the ball was just out
of his reach.
South Huron regained pos-
session again on their own 25-
yard line and on the first down,
Burton raced for 12 yards and
Youngash picked up some ad-
ditional yardage before Nagel
burst around the end for 45
yards.
Youngash got another 10
yards and Burton climaxed the
long drive by scampering
around the end for a 15-yard
TD
The convert attempt by Bob
Moir was blocked.
Listowel threw a scare into
the locals by advancing 65 yards
after taking the kickoff, but they
