Fred Rader, 79, passed away
in South Huron -Hospital, Exeter,
Friday, October 23,
His wife, the fernier Clara
Kraft, died in 1001. One sister,
Mrs. Adeline Kraft survives
as well as a number of nieces
and nephews.
He was a member of Zion
Lutheran church and a retired
farmer.
The body rested at the T.
Harry Hoffman funeral home
until Monday when the funeral
service was held in Zion Luth,
eran church with the pastor,
Rev. Win. Getz officiating. In-
terment was in the Lutheran
cemetery.
Pall bearers were: John, Al,
vin, and Harold Rader, Oscar
Miller, Ted Steinbach, and Bert
Klopp.

The Messengers met Sunday
morning during the church ser-
vice with 26 members present.
The meeting was in charge of
the vice president, John Gar-
tenburg and opened with quiet
music by David Strahan.
Mrs. Insley conducted the
Scripture study after which Carl
Langford led in prayer. Arlene
Johns read a poem.
Mrs. E. Strewn read a chap-
ter from the new study book,
"Children in the Sun". A chorus
was sung by the boys. The offer-
ing was taken by GordonRobin-
son and David Strahan.
Plans were finalized for the
fall program. Pianists were
Karen Rodd and David Strahan.

Mrs. Mildred Gehman, as-
sociate professor of Vellore
Medical College, India, was
guest speaker at the South Sec-
tional meeting of the WMS Strat-
ford Presbyterial of the Pres-
byterian church, at Cromarty
church, Thursday, October 22.
Mrs. Gehman gave an inter-
esting talk and showed slides of
her work as a missionary in
Vellore. She told how the young
girls and boys in India are be-
coming educated especially as
doctors and nurses, and that the
majority of them are becoming
Christians. She was introduced
by Mrs. T. L. Scott and thank-
ed by Mrs. Harry Strang.
Mrs. Coulthard presided for
the meeting with Mrs. Gordon

SENIORS ENJOY PROGRAM
The Senior Citizens of Cro-
marty and Staffa districts met
in Staffa Hall, Tuesday after-
noon, Oct. 20, with the president
Mr. Harold Carey in the chair
and Mrs. R. McCaughey at the
piano, The roll call was ans-
wered with "Where were you
last Sunday".
The November meeting will
be held November 10 at 8 pm
with the St. Marys group as
guests.
The program convener, Mrs.
J. R. Jefferson presided be-
ginning with a sing song led
by Mrs. Mccaughey followed
with a reading by Mrs. Bowman.
Mrs. IL D. Sadler. favored with
solos, "It is no Secret" and
"Smiling Through", and mouth
organ selections by Mr. George
Wallace. Euchre was played and
lunch was served with Mrs.
Grace Scott and Mrs. Darrell
Parker as conveners.

The Hensel]. District Co-Op
announced this week they have
purchased a modern Seco mo-
bile feed milling unit and the
service of this machine is being
offered to area farmers.
It is believed to be the first
time that an area feed dealer
has entered the field of mobile
milling, although private indi-
viduals have had machines pre-
viously.
The benefits to farmers and
a description of the machine
are listed in an advertisement
in this week's issue.
Garnet Mousseau, manager of
the Co-Op, and Wilmer Fer-
guson have been attending a
training school in Nashville,
Tennessee, in preparation for

County in the Queen's Guineas
Class at the Royal Agricultural
Winter Fair on Friday, Novem-
ber 20.

CROP REPORT
Grain corn harvesting is pro-
gressing rapidly du ring the
warm sunny weather. Above
average yields have been re-
ported.
The sugar beet and turnip
harvest is well under way. Pas-
ture conditions continue to be
favourable in many areas. Wint-
er wheat appears to be well
established.
The completion of fall plow-
ing has already marked the end
of another crop season on some
farms.
