an anthem with organ, piano
and glockenspiel accompanied
by Mrs. Hodgins, Sharon Light-
foot and Elaine Powe.
A duet was sung by Mrs.
Lorne Keller and Mrs. Don
Fishier (the former Fsspry
twins Jean and Joan), Mrs.
Russell Wilson sang a solo. The
organ and piano were used for
the hymns and offertory music

The quarterly meeting of the
Lutheran Missionary League
was held Wednesday, October
14, in Zion Lutheran church,
with the pastor, Rev. Wm. Gatz
discussing the topic, "Testing
Our Faith".
The president, Mrs. Ken Kel-
ler, presided for the business.
Mrs. Leonard Schenk reported
on the biennial convention held
at Monkton recently.
The ladies brought baby
clothes for layettes for foreign
missions and used clothing is
acceptable during October.
Club Girl as a Canadian Citi-
zen". The first aid kits and what
will go in each were also talked
about.

LLL RALLY
The Lutheran Laymen League
Rally was held Sunday October
18 at Mt. Olive Lutheran church,
London, with several members
attending from Zion Lutheran
church.
Work of the Lutheran Hour
was discussed and it is hoped
that the Lutheran Hour, Ontario,
will be self supporting by 1967.
Ideas and materials were pre-
sented to make meetings and
clubs more interesting. The
movie, "Breakthrough" was
shown stressing that clubs be
more interested in work for
God rather than being busy.
Gordon Kraft, Zone presi-
dent, presided for the business.
Inquiries will be made as to
cost and available space for a
display at Western fair, London,
next year.
A social evening will be held
at Dashwood community centre
in November. All LLL members
are invited.
A buffet supper was served
and the group was entertained
by the Beatle Bed Bugs. Closing
devotions were conducted by the
Dashwood League.

The new bridge on concession
4 Biddulph is drawing a great
deal of attention these days,
Following a bad start, when
the detour was washed out sev-
eral times, the bridge is now
well on its way.
The large concrete beams
were hauled in by special truck
and put into place by two huge
cranes; each beam is 104 feet
long and weighs 40 ton. They
were made by "Schell" of
Woodstock and brought to Cen-
tralia by railway.
The fill is being hauled this
week, the road straightened and
then the flon will be laid next.

the town hall Thursday, Oct. 15
with president, Mrs. Roy Mor-
enz presiding.
Roll call was bring an old

text book.
Mrs. Les Adams reported
on WI rally. Mrs. Ed Gill was
appointed delegate to the Area
Convention to be held at St.
Thomas. For home work each
member is to work on some
item for historical book.
Mrs. Alex Hamilton reported
on the historical society at
Goderich. Mrs. Rosa Grigg re-
ported that the tag day for
Exeter hospital was well over
$70.
The meeting was taken over
by Mrs. Carman Lovie, his-
torical research convener, who
gave an interesting paper on
the early days in L ambt on
County and surrounding dis-
trict. The motto, ',Look back
and give thanks, look forward
and give courage" was discus-
sed by Mrs. Wellwood Gill.
Lunch was served by Mrs.
Marty Burke, Mrs. Elgin Adams
and Mrs. Alvin Moir.
HONORED PRIOR TO LEAVING
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Atkinson,
who moved to Lucan Monday,
were guests of honor at a fare-
well party, in the Parish hall
Friday evening. The early part
of the evening all participated
in progressive euchre.
Mr. and Mrs. Atkinson were
called to the platform and Mrs.
Tom Kooy read the address.

Mr. Hugh Davis and Mrs. Hugh
Davis representing the church
and Mrs. Jim Barker and Mr.

tables and lamps. Both expres-
sed their thanks and pleasure
and invited all the friends to
visit them in Lucan. A social
hour followed.
