The Exeter Kinsmen summer
playground came to an end Fri-
day, with the staging of the an-
nual penny carnival when the
kids tested their abilities at
various imaginative games of
chance. King and Queen chosen
to reign over the festivities
were Don Gifford and Cathy
Reid, shown in the photo at the
left as Cathy tries her luck
at balancing jelly beans on a
spoon while pipe-chomping Don
looks on. In the top photo, Mrs.
Eldrid Simmons, who assisted
her husband in judging costume
winners, poses with Paul Idle,
left, and John Gould, who had
the best decorated bicycles.
John won the first prize. Just
off to the left can be seen David
Greene, one of the costume win-
ners. --T-A photos
