rushed home from a business
trip to Argentina in time to at-
tend the picnic, bringing a most
interesting account of a trip he
took to visit "The Lost City of
the Incas in Peru."

tions the 2,6th Thomson reunion
was held Saturday July 18 at
Riverview Park, Exeter, with
60 members of the clan attend-
ing. A full line of sports were
run off under direction of the
sports committee Bert Vor-
stenbosch and Doug Stanlake.

In a setting of baskets of
white gladioli, blue mums, can-
delabra arid fern in First Pres-
byterian Church, Seaforth, Sat-
urday July 18 at 2;30 pm Mar-
jorie Carol Valley, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs, George Varley,
RR 3 Kippen, became the bride
of John Malcolm MacLean, son
of Mr. and Mrs. J. E, MacLean,
RR 3 Seaforth, in a ceremony
performed by Rev. D. 0. Fry.
Miss Carol Brown presided
at the organ consul and accom-
panied the soloist, Miss Dorothy
Parker, Hensall, who sang "The
Lord's Prayer," and "0 Per-
fect Love".
Given in marriage by her
father the bride was lovely in a
floor-length wedding gown of
white nylon sheer over taffeta.
The bodice styled with scoop
neckline, appliques of French
lace and sequins, long lily point
sleeves, The controlled skirt
had appliques of lace and se-
quins, bustle back with large
rose and bow. A crown tiara
of crystals and pearls held her
silk illusion veil, and she car-
ried a cascade of red roses and
ivy, and stephanotis.
Maid of honor Miss Gail Fin-
layson, Seaforth, and brides-
maids, Miss Lois Rathwell,
Clinton, and Miss Mary Dear-
ing, Stella, were gowned iden-
tically in pale blue nylon sheer,
styled with scoop necklines,
cap sleeves, French lace inser-
tion at midriffs, controlled
skirts with panels of French
lace bows at the waist. Pillbox
hats with face veils completed
their ensembles, and they car-
ried crescent bouquets of feath-
ered pink carnations.

parlors the bride's mother wore
an aqua blue dress with white
accessories. The groom's
mother chose a pink dress with
navy accessories. Both wore a
corsage of red roses.
For their wedding trip to
Northern Ontario the bride wore
a blouson sheath of pink raycn
chiffon over pink and white
rayon taffeta, with matching
pink duster, white accessories,
and corsage of pink carnations.
They will reside in Seaforth.

Prior to her marriage the
bride was feted at several func-
tions held in her honor.
Mrs, Muriel McLachlan, Kip-
pen, Mrs. Wilma Kllenhar, and
Mrs. Ray Consitt, were hos-
tesses for a miscellaneous
shower held at SS 9 Tucker-
smith. Miss Gail Finlayson of
Seaforth was hostess for amis-
cellaneous shower at her home.
Mrs. George Varley enter-
tained at a trousseau tea at her
home Monday, July 13 afternoon
and evening for her daughter
Carol, a bride of Saturday, July
18. Guests were received by
Mrs. Varley and Carol, assis-
ted by the groom's mother Mrs.
J. E. MacLean, Seaforth,
Miss Gail Finlayson and Miss
Adeline Chappel served tea.

were held in Cromarty Church
Friday evening. Rev. B. Day-
nerd of Staffa, director of the

Roberts and Gordon Dick, Mrs.
Elmer Dow, music director,
conducted school songs. Rev.
Harold Currie of Chiselhurst
pronounced the benediction.
