About 30 members and friends
of Hurondale WI motored to Hur-
onview last Wednesday after-
noon and presented a program
and lunch for the residents and
remembered 19 birthdays oc-
curring in June with a birth-
day cake and gifts.
Mrs. Warren Brock was mis-
tress of ceremonies for a pro-
gram arranged by Mrs. Andrew
Dougall and Mrs. R. E, Pooley.
It included a humorous skit, in
which Mrs. Harry Vallott sang
two „solos, a singsong and a duet
by Mrs. Pooley and Mrs. Nel-
son Squires with Mrs. H. H.
Strang as accompanist.
Mr. and Mrs. Ron Patterson
were called forward, Jack Hod-
gent, on behalf of the school
children, read an address and
Marlene Stewart presented Mr.
Patterson with an adjustable
lamp. Jack Stewart, on behalf
of the section, read an address
and Mac Hodgert and Lloyd
Knight presented Mr. and Mrs.
Patterson with a yellow chaise
lounge and matching aluminum
chair. Rhn spoke a few words
of thanks and appreciation for
the gifts. All joined in singing
"For They Are Jolly Good Fel-
lows". A smorgasbord lunch
was enjoyed by all.
her sister's maid of honor;
Miss Lynda Hunt and Mrs. Kath-
ryn Lobb, the groom's sister,
were bridesmaids.
They were gowned alike in
aqua satapeau, with fitted bo-
dices, and soft pleats highlight-
ing the backs of the skirts with
front controlled fullness. Pill-
box headpieces and scalloped
veils completed their costumes
and they carried cascades of
pink and white carnations.
Lynn Fulcher, niece of the
bride, was flower girl, in pink
nylon and carrying a basket of
pink and aqua carnations.
The groom's brother, Don
Love, Toronto, was best man.
Ushers were Ron Love, Paul
Fulcher, with the groom's ne-
phew, Kevin Datars, as ring-
bearer.
Receiving for the bride was
her aunt, Miss Alma Fulcher,
who chose an aqua and silver,
two-piece ensemble with white
accessories.
The groom's mother assisted
in a pink and white linen suit
with navy and white accessor-
ies. Both wore white gardenia
corsages.
Rev. Mervyn Love, Leaming-
ton, uncle of the groom, assisted
Rev. Gordon Barkwell at the
marriage vows of Janet Elva
Fulcher and Clare Esley Love
in Point Edward United Church
recently.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. Russell Fulcher and the
late Mrs. Fulcher, Point Ed-
ward, while the groom's par-
ents are Mr. and Mrs. Ross
Love, Grand Bend.
Mrs. Robert Finch sang two
solos accompanied by Miss Bet-
ty Graham.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father and wore a
floor-length gown of satapeau
with long lilypoint sleeves and
high scalloped neckline enhanc-
ing the fitted bolero of madiera
lace.
The skirt was styled elegant-
ly from a high line in the back,
with controlled front fullness
and fell into a full train. A
crown of pearls with lace ap-
plique inserts secured her il-
lusion veil and she carried a
cascade of pink roses and car-
nations.
Miss Maureen Fulcher was

Miss Diane Weber was hos-
tess at her home for a miscel-
laneous shower for Miss Janet
Martin, finances of David Carr
of St. Jacobs. Some 55 friends
and relatives were present and
enjoyed games and contests.
Diane read the address and
the many useful gifts were pre-
sented in a wishing well. Janet
graciously thanked all and lunch
was served by the hostess.

Wesley Nichols
resort operator
Wesley Nichols, 63, died in
Victoria Hospital, London,
Monday June 22. He had been
a building contractor in Lon-
don for the past 20 years. Prior
to that he had operated cabins
in Grand Bend.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Margaret McKay
of Kippen; two sons, Harold of
Kitchener and Glen of Florida;
one sister, Mrs. Fred (Ella)
Jackson, Stratford and two
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held
at the T. Harry Hoffman Fu-
neral home, Dashwood, with.
Rev. Harold Snell officiating
Wednesday, June 24 with inter-
ment in Grand Bend cemetery.

A social evening was held
last Wednesday evening at the
home of Mrs. Carman Wood-
burn when a number of the UC
ladies met in honor of Miss
Isabel Mitchell of Toronto, a
former teacher at Parkhill High
School and North M i d die se x
District High School.
These ladies had all been
pupils of Miss Mitchell. Of 43
years in a teaching career,
Miss Mitchell spent 32 of these
years teaching in Parkhill.
Miss Mitchell gave a tra-
velogue and presented pictures
of her 84-day trip around the
world. Mrs. Donald Waters of
Parkhill assisted Miss Mitchell
with her projector and screen.
Many old time incidents were
recalled with "Do you remem-
ber?" etc. etc.
Miss Mitchell was presented
with a pin and ear-ring set,
after which she thanked every-
one present for their kindness to
her by arranging this reunion.
